      Too much upfront cost in a sauna, at least with a pub I can lie to myself and say I’m only going in for one pint

      Interesting, especially as I read an article yesterday about how Nordic Spas are increasing in popularity in Canada. Looks like a similar thing is happening here. The reasons for this sudden popularity were similar, to focus on wellness, and to socialise without being at a pub or drinking alcohol.

      Can confirm – bunch of pot-bellied right-wingers chatting shit daily in my local gyms sauna.

      Or do like the Finns and have all the benefits of alcohol while using the sauna.

      The saunas are frequented by either racist boomers or “gym bros” who listen and debate Joe Rogan. Its led me to cancel my membership

      Sauna is pretty cool, but not affordable and not easy to access to. At least in my area.

      Can’t see my misses believing I only called in for a quick sauna and was gone 5 hrs.

      I can think of loads of pub benefits the sauna doesn’t have. They serve beer. The seats have cushions. You don’t have to see anybody’s todger. Perhaps there’s a bit of music. It’s a normal human temperature.
