Ich brauche eine Suomi-Perspektive für unser Poster für das Suomi-Deutschland-Spiel (IIHF-Junioren-Welthockeyspiel) morgen. Ist es: Auf geht’s, Suomi! Loslassen!
Oder lass uns nach Finnland gehen! Lass uns gehen!
Meine 10-jährige Stieftochter wird es halten …

Mennään torille
“Anna mennä” 100%.
Other than that, I think the poster is very cute. 🙂
Edit: I thought about it, and while “anna mennä” (or even “antaa mennä”) would be correct, it doesn’t really sound like something you would put on a poster. 🤔 To say it out loud would be fine, but on a poster…hmmm…I would maybe change it into something else.
Of those two definitely anna mennä but neither is really used in this situation. More accurate would be just ”hyvä suomi hyvä” in such cheering matter.
Mennään is a lets go as in if you are telling someone to lets go somewhere
“anna mennä, Suomi” would translate closely to “Lets go, Finland”
I presume you got “Mennään, Suomi” from “go Finland go” or some similar phrase. I guess this *could* be used, but I wouldnt cheer my sportsteam like this, unless i was playing (mennään is a passive verb, but almost always used in plural first person)
I’d suggest the phrase “Voitto kotiin, Suomi”. Literal translation would be “(lets take) the win to home, Finland”, and this is a much more applicable and makes more sense.
Sorry this won’t be a helpful answer, I’m just curious about your post. Do you mean Fin – USA, as the Germany game was yesterday?:D Regardless, have fun and great that you’re cheering for Finland!
