Welcome to idiocracy.
Ill be honest
The average American is against trumps policies
The problem is one thing
1. Their hatred and fear of cultural change by immigrants far out weights anything else.
It’s easy when you can blame all your problems on immigrants and the changing culture.
What if Nancy Pelosi stands aside and lets avg people have their voice/desires heard? Anything could happen
They will care one those F350s cost hundreds to fill with gas.
Canada, Mexico, and Greenland cares.
What do you mean “what if”? He was elected president. They don’t care.
~50% of the voting public don’t care. They learned from his first term, if the economy is in the tank, people will be indifferent to kids in cages. So, tank the economy then do whatever you want. His cult will never not support him.
Never happen.
They’ll feel the pain, and blame the Democrats.
This is precisely what we should expect.
Anyone banking on people turning on trump are banking on an outcome wholly out of our control. And just basic logic wise, it’s never good to rely on things outside your control. You can only change yourself and your own side.
If we wanna win the next elections, we have to **expect** that people won’t come to us because they’ve turned on trump. We have to win them back with our own alternative vision.
The people who could do something, as laid out in their country’s beloved constitution, think the tyrant is their friend.
I am over being outraged by: 1) the Trump and maga bullshit and their shock politics and 2) the constant media over amplification of every 6 words out of his mouth. I don’t think he’s a good person or a good president. I voted against him in 3 elections. I advocated for every opponent he had. But at this point, I’m just done with it all. The democrat party failed to back Biden since he won in 2020. The media made a circus of all the democrat populism on one side while they continued to sensationalize the maga movement- you don’t get to have both. And now, my hope is that people with outrage fatigue like me will start tuning out of this rhetorical manufactured drama – oh no, look at what he’s done again nonsense. Im just done.
If he does everything, his people will support him no matter what. I talk to random MAGA everyday and they idolize him, unfortunately.
I’ve also noticed many Democratic voters now moving more right post-election. They are the weak ones.
The rest of us are just gobsmacked by all the idiocracy coming from Trump.
Incredulous and very sad what’s happening.
I don’t think he’ll get anything done.
The opposite: he won’t do most of what he promised and they still won’t care.
He will do it and we already know they don’t care otherwise he wouldn’t have won the popular vote. Even if it affects them, his base will blame anyone and everyone BUT him. That’s how cults work. And the apathetic idiots who didn’t vote won’t blame themselves either. They will just believe whatever propaganda that TikTok tells them to believe.
Economists say we would be between a recession and a depression if he implemented mass deportations and tariffs so people will care. They won’t have the option to not care.
If that happens then the people deserve the outcome.
I’d say economic nationalism is what’s being sold as Trump 2.0 made solid gains among POC, especially Latinos.
However the billionaires behind Trump this time aren’t about to let suckers get an even break. Think that’s why despite rhetoric, the actual plans (like scaled-down but still mass deportation is concentrated on renewing workplace raids) seem more realistic. Also they tend to be more *laissez faire* until an economic disaster is full on, .. so the Democrats can come back with an updated economic program starting in 2026. So despite deregulation (LPT: don’t go with the mystery meat starting 2025), thing prices on a lot of stuff will resume their upward trajectory.. letting even the city Democrats expand their wares into the burbs.
Panama and intl shipping will care.
That’s funny, all the promises are being walked back before he even gets into office and he is nominating criminals and incompetent people. The world is laughing at us. What if…… we have already seen what he will do , and now he has no balance to prevent him from doing crazy crap.
Then I guess we’re witnessing the rise of the Fourth Reich.
There are still some people who go into Republican-owned businesses, who allow Republicans into their homes and near their families, and when their Republican co-workers say good morning, They smile and say it back.
So Republicans don’t think that anything is wrong.
Then there are others of us who will not break bread with these Nazis.
We shun them and shame them which is appropriate.
When they ask to visit, we tell them that that’s a hell. No, we don’t allow Nazis in our home, we don’t allow people in our home who think that it’s okay to grab women by the pussy, or think that child sex predators aren’t just acceptable, but should be appointed to the highest positions in the land.
We know what Republicans stand for, and it is immoral, dangerous, and harmful.
So yes, as long as good people continue to treat Republican Nazi pedophiles as if they are sent, moral people, Republicans will not get the message and will keep on behaving the way they behave. That’s on us.
All 900+ pages of P25?
*Individuals* are going to suffer.
The *collective* is going to shrug.
Start packing your bags
I cared a lot. Then he won. Now I am still in disbelief. And I’ve kind of given up. Soooo many people couldn’t see what would happen. Now it’s going to happen.
About half of voters are cheering him to do it.
It’s a pretty brilliant plan. Can’t deal with immigrants so let’s just make the other countries American. No more immigrants!
If he guts the ACA, I’m going to care a lot. I’ll have to move to a different state where pre-existing coverage is more solid. In Ohio, pre ACA, covertly firing people who were big drains on your insurance was fairly normal and there would be nothing stopping that practice when the ACA is gutted.
Trump promised to gut the VA. Veterans voted for him anyway. My wife’s uncle was getting some brand new Alzheimer’s medication that was giving him a good quality of life, he no longer can get it approved due to uncertainty from his doctor. (VA can’t prescribe it, but his regular doctor can, but his regular doctor can no longer prescribe that ‘untested’ medicine or some such). He’s still proud he voted for trump but will be fully out of it in 6 months without his medicine.
If the tariffs hit, which they probably will in some form, you are going to see prices spike and that’s going to upset a bunch of people but Trump was screaming from the rooftops that was his plan.
Then un-United States of America.
USSR was big then, nobody thought it will fall, and then it did.
Now this, and some say the pattern is the same. Question is, if it happens, what state will be the equivalent of Azerbaijan?
He didn’t last time. Why would this time be any different?
He just got elected after the complete disgrace that was 2017-2021 America.
He got elected after being an overt critical and traitor.
Most people don’t care, or are too zombied out on Tik Tok to even notice.
Well they’re going to have make a choice between their bigotry and owning the libs or just pure lazy non voters vs whatever personal consequences they’re suffering.
And yeah the die hard magas won’t care, they were fine with Trump killing them in the millions during covid, but some of the lazy non voters will care.
If the people cared they would not have voted him into office again after attempting to steal democracy from them.
America, whatever you had before the second Trump term is gone and not coming back. What will be left after his term I don’t know, but one thing that is certain is that you have collectively walked through a one way door to something less than a democracy.
