To be clear, I love Estonia, and am VERY pro Estonian. I stand against Russian and Chinese aggression.
As a person from Asia who has spent years travelling through south East Asia, I understood and recognized the threat China posed to the Western world (including Estonia), long before Covid, long before it was “cool” to be critical of the Chinese Communist Party. Unfortunately, most people did not want to listen, instead choosing to call me a self hating Asian. I interviewed countless Estonians in Tallinn central, asking them if they thought China would back Russia if it ever attacked Europe (including Ukraine) and most Estonians thought I was crazy, saying that China would never do this, that China would choose to support the Europe, not Russia…
…and here we are. Russia would have imploded long ago had China propped them up economically and technologically. China is the main lynchpin funding and supporting the Russian war effort. They supply North Korea with tons of new weapons, so that North Korea can then supply Russia with their their old supplies.
China IS the main aggressor here. Russia is just their proxy.
It’s very interesting post to make at 5 AM.
Though I agree with you pretty much. I think China is interested in global domination and China has no limits on what methods it will use, just as russians are. You say that China is the main aggressor, but idk, I can’t really relate about it right now. To me problem always was with russia, I see China just as a beneficiary from that whole situation. Russians get sanctions, russians can’t buy stuff – so they trade with Chinese, who buy their oil / gas for cheap and sell them stuff they need, that’s more like “realpolitik”. Also, when USSR was a thing relations with China went down quickly and there even were some conflicts at the border.
Recently there was an event, when Chinese spies pressed on British dude who was playing piano and streaming himself, they approached him and he recorded / streamed them. It was a big deal for them, they tried to get it removed, they used the police and stuff. Nasty.
I think we’ll see more when China will try to invade Taiwan. For some reason, it feels like China makes the same mistake as russia did. Whilst benefiting from trade with the EU / US, then trying to attack and destroy them. Russians benefited so much from trading their resources, they could have had way higher standard of living, but their czar had chosen different and they don’t mind it, it’s ok for them. The same with China, not respecting international law and doing shady things, escalating the war, but what for?

There was a ton of chinese psy ops happening in the facebook groups for foreigners in Estonia that dates back years. **One** chinese guy in particular was stirring a ton of shit there, and even went as far as to dox hong kong and taiwanese living here.
