      SS no “Christmas” isnt jesus birthday it is actually saturnalia, a pagan holiday worshipping the God Saturn. Giving Gifts is apart of the holiday.

      Not a conspiracy, this has been known for 1,688 years.

      Emperor Constantine declared it official in 336 AD. Otherwise the *earliest* mention of December 25th being known as Christmas comes from St. Hippolytus in 204 AD, from his writing of “Commentary on Daniel”. Also that predates the Roman festival of Natalis Invicti (aka the birth of the unconquered sun) by about 50 years.

      Santa Claus is based on pagan shamanistic traditions too. Amanita muscaria mushrooms hanging in evergreens, feeding them to reindeer and drinking their piss.

      December 25 is the traditional anniversary of the birth of Christ, but most scholars are unsure about the true date for Christ’s birth.

      The decision to celebrate Christmas on December 25 was made sometime during the fourth century by church bishops in Rome. They had a specific reason for doing so.

      Having turned long ago from worshiping the one true God and creator of all things, many early cultures in the Roman empire had fallen into sun worship. Recognizing their dependence on the sun’s yearly course in the heavens, they held feasts around the winter solstice in December when the days are shortest. As part of their festivals, they built bonfires to give the sun god strength and bring him back to life again. When it became apparent that the days were growing longer, there would be great rejoicing.

      The church leaders in Rome decided to celebrate Christ’s birth during the winter solstice in an attempt to Christianize these popular pagan celebrations. For the most part their efforts failed to make the people conform, and the heathen festivities continued. Today we find ourselves left with a bizarre marriage of pagan and Christian elements that characterizes our modern celebration of Christmas.

      I think it’s weird how Mary gave birth at 16. Sure you can say it’s normal for the time, but it still fuels the idea in my brain that Mary was covering her ass by saying she had no idea how she got pregnant. Sex education was not a development until very recent years, so of course she wouldn’t know to be careful to avoid pregnancy. Maybe she really did get impregnated by a “Holy Spirit,” but conception doesn’t work without balls to produce half of the baby.

      Christmas, is not about the birth of Jesus, just have a look how people are celebrating it, buying presents for eachother (not jesus), buying statues of santa claus or anythign related to it, buying christmas trees, and worshipping it. And to top it all off, Jesus was not even born in the 25th of december.

      So why do people still want to celibrate it?

      Dec 25th is the resurrection of the “Sun of God”, which coincides with the winter solistice on Dec 25th. The sun is “dead for 3 days”, between Dec 22-25, symbolized by Jesus being in his tomb for 3 days. The sun is at its lowest point in the sky for 3 days before being resurrected and rising again in the sky to bring healing and salvation from the dreadful winter.

      Similarly at the spring equinox, we celebrate Easter, to commemorate Jesus’ resurrection. At the spring equinox, the daylight hours are officially longer than the night time hours, and gradually get longer after this point. We celebrate with symbols of bunny rabbits and Easter eggs which are symbols of fertility. Jesus becomes “the lamb of god” as he (the sun) enters the Aries zodiac sign, which is symbolized by a ram or “lamb”. The blood of the lamb of god who “takes away the sins of the world”.

      I’ve heard it’s actual April 1st. Which is what April fools day really means. They fooled us. Is this accurate or just dumb?

      If the three wise men (shepherds) were out in the fields tending their flock of sheep when they saw the angel Gabriel announce the birth of Christ in nearby Bethlehem then it would likely have been spring time when Christ was born, not the middle of winter.

      There’s actually solid reasons as to why Dec 25 was chosen as Christ’s birth date, though we can’t know for certain. Zechariah the priest was told of the birth of his sin John the Baptist on the day of Atonement, in the 7th month of the Hebrew calendar. 6 months into that pregnancy Mary was informed she would bear the Messiah, placing that in the first month of the year. Add 10 months for a full term pregnancy and a hand month for conception delays and you get mid to late December.
      Also saturnalia is Dec 17-23 so they don’t overlap.

      I don’t know when my dog was born, so we celebrate Sept 15. She doesn’t care, we don’t care, the point is to celebrate her birth.

      If I remember correctly, I read an article that through planet/ star placement and other signs that it is believed that Jesus was born sometime in July.

      I’m a former Christian. I grew up in church. I’ve attended several different churches, of different denominations, over the years. No one believes that Dec.25th is the actual birthday of Christ. It is the day that his birth is celebrated, since his actual birthday, and birth year for that matter, is unknown. Many Christians are aware that this is also a pagan holiday.

      Honestly, easter should be celebrated on Dec 25 since it signifies the “rebirth” of the sun after being dead for 3 days.

      That being said, all religions are built on top of previous pagon celebrations.
