      Politician sees political opportunity with political counterpart.

      I really don’t like ford, but he is the only one who is defending the country. Despite the rest of his policies, it does have value.

      Of course, because he’s a politician. That doesn’t make it wrong. The counter argument is that he’s taken the bait by responding to Trump. Sometimes it’s better to ignore Trump. Only time will tell.

      He’s truly an incompetent premier, but he’s a hell of a politician. He’s recognizing this as a moment of a power vacuum where Canadians are rightly terrified of the orange man. He stepped up with the right tone during COVID too, it was more optics, but it’s definitely a part of the job. I think in a different world where Poillievre wouldn’t win this next election in a landslide he would have great shot at being PM one day. Just due to his age and he’s probably at least 8 years away from that gig I’d expect that won’t happen.
