“Deadpool” actor Ryan Reynolds thanked the country after he was named as an officer of the Order of Canada, saying the nation shaped and continues to inspire him.

In a short statement, the B.C. native and movie superstar told Canada he was “yours forever — just a bit more officery now” and “deeply honoured” to the core of his soul.

Reynolds was one of 88 people to be appointed to the Order of Canada this week alongside scientists, advocates and artists, all deemed to have made extraordinary contributions to the nation.

The order of Canada isn’t about his acting or even his popularity. Ryan has been the most verbal & proud ambassador for Canada we’ve probably ever had & more importantly puts his money where his mouth is. Endlessly supporting environmental groups, indigenous groups, children’s healthcare, the arts & major disaster relief funds. He is more than due this honour.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen him even mention Canada.

I think I almost made it 24 hours without seeing a completely inane Ryan Reynolds post. Oh well. Clock starts again.
