      This is how it is done. Facts over lies. Take the effort to research. Value knowledge and learning. Understand sources and question their intentions. This will innoculate you from the brain rot posted online. It doesn’t make you a nerd, it makes you a better human being.

      We are a nation of scholars – make sure the next generation is equipped to carry the mantle.

      This trend of “statements” being a screenshot of a text app needs to go away.

      Just put it on a page on your website, or use Google Docs or something. Anything so that the end user can read it in their own local device settings (for text size, font, text colour, background, translation, screen readers etc.)

      I’m honestly disappointed by this coming from Montefiore. I’ve read a lot of his work, and his books are typically well-researched and grounded in facts. He’s not someone I would expect to conflate anti-Israel sentiment with antisemitism. While I understand that there has historically been an issue with antisemitism in Ireland, a lot has changed since 1919, and it seems unfair to apply such a broad characterization today.

      Very disappointed in SSM, he is a good historian. But this outburst is so ignorant that it makes me question his other work

      Cheap shot to throw this in now, but his Stalin books are terrible, hacky things.

      Fair play to Limerick Civic Trust, and thank you. I’ve watched this guy’s documentaries on Spain and Istanbul and they were both shallow and not very engaging on any level. So this take of his doesn’t surprise me.
