  1. They could lend this to the US, they’re having a problem with drones over military installations, poor US that has no idea what’s going on 🙁

  2. Didn’t the UK experiment with something like this early this year? It was named Dragonfire or something

    >**Ukraine claims it has a laser weapon capable of shooting down airborne targets at distances of up to 2 kilometers.**

    >According to the Kyiv Post newspaper, Vadym Sukharevskyi, the commander of Ukraine’s drone forces, confirmed the weapon’s operational status during a conference, saying it was “real” and “operational”.

    >He added that his team is now working to enhance its range and effectiveness.

    >“We can state that today Ukraine is, if I’m not mistaken, the fifth country that can say it has a laser weapon,” the commander said, according to reports.

    >“We are already able to shoot down planes at an altitude of more than 2 kilometers with this laser.”

    >While the claims have yet to be independently verified, and few details have been shared, reports suggest the weapon is named ‘Tryzub,’ meaning trident, Ukraine’s national symbol.

    >The name suggests that the technology could have been developed domestically, the Reuters news agency said.

    >Other countries are also working on developing laser weapons to counter the threat posed by drones.

    >In April, the U.K.’s defense ministry said that a British laser weapon called DragonFire could be used in Ukraine as a shield against Russian drone attacks.

    >Last week, it was reported that the system had been successfully tested for the first time on a military range in Wales.

    >Ukraine’s drone chief also discussed the development of large “queen drones” that can carry two smaller devices, according to Ukrainian media.

    >These machines can allegedly hit targets over 70 km away and were described as a “breakthrough,” reported the Kyiv Post and Kyiv Independent.

From drones to lazors, this war has everything. I would not be surprised if soon we have quadruped robots from Boston Dynamics roaming the fields or soldiers equipped with exoskeletons.

this site has one of the biggest cookie config pop ups i’ve seen yet. the laser looks really cool though

  6. Don’t get me wrong, I hate Russia more than anybody else, but I’m not going to believe it until I see it being widely used in combat

  7. I guess Russia is going to have to put mirror shine on its drones, yawn…

When you see a box truck with 200 shahed silhouettes spray painted on the side, steer clear.

    Keep up the good work!

Only problem with this being remotely reliable is that it is totally dependent on a high power supply.

So they’re going to smooth out the tech for Israel? The limitations on theirs is weather and poor visibility. Hopefully the live demo here helps.

They have it when they use it

Until they use it, they don’t really have it in the meaningful sense of the word

Man, the 2020s sure feel in a lot of ways like the future I was promised as a kid: laser weapons, cartoon characters coming to life, electric cars, chips in the brain, artificial intelligence…

Shame most of it sucks, except the real life cartoon characters. Vtubers are cool.

These mounted on MRAAPs or otherwise fast maneuverable (fuck me sideways spellcheck was like “I can’t help you bro you’ll have to try again” 3 times on that one) vehicles would turn the tide of war practically overnight. To be able to rid the skies even out to a handful of km of drones would be insane in the current conflict.

The power needed is large, the optics are refined and likely a bit delicate. Those are the major hurdles. The benefits are legion. Instead of $1,000,000 or even $100,000 per shot, its like $2 per shot. Also, if you only have 20 missiles on hand, and they send 30 drones, 10 get through. Here they can send 200 drones, and you just have a busy day.

  17. It will be interesting to see if this can accurately target the FPV drones, they can’t be easy to find
