Ein anderer russischer Soldat hörte oder sah herumfliegende ukrainische FPV-Drohnen und beschloss, in der Hoffnung, dass ihn niemand bemerken würde, stehenzubleiben.

Who TF in the Russian army is teaching guys that Ukraine is Jurassic Park and a drone’s vision is based on movement?

I know, I know, trick question. Nobody is. Some other poor asshat conscriptnik from Pskov is telling the other guys this during the 72 hours of training they get.

The frequence this is happening with says someone told them something like “they only have thermal vision and your coat absorbs IR, so they can’t see you when you freeze”

Probably because they know once detected, they are dead and don’t want them to run to the nearest foxhole to leak the position.

I know that situation is hopeless but even still, jumping into some grass/bushes and trying to hide in your camouflaged BDU is surely better than standing upright against the backdrop of a paved road

  4. I can see how staying still in cover can maybe make it harder to spot for an FPV…at a distance. But yeah someone is definitely misinforming these guys.

There’s an abandoned helmet and rifle from the last guy to die. Seems like a bad spot to stop.

  7. In this particular case, wouldn’t it be beneficial to run to the left into all those tangled sticks and whatnot? Wouldn’t it be hard for a drone to fly through dense vegetation or brambly undergrowth?
