This guy is so funny. He says it’s time for Trudeau to resign but he won’t commit to a non-confidence vote.

Singh keeps backing himself into a corner. Between a rock and a hard place. Love to see it.

  2. It’s really infuriating. The reporters were not giving him softball questions on supporting the gov’t… all we got ‘everything is on the table’.

The table is missing a few legs, Jagmeet.

  3. Jagmeet Singh: “Trudeau must resign, people are hurting”

Reporters: “Will you vote no confidence in this government”

JS: “Let me be perfectly clear, all options are on the table”

R: “Will you keep supporting the Liberals?”

    JS: “Trudeau must go”

This press conference was actually a joke, Singh is so terrible at these types of interviews. “Let me be perfectly clear” is definitely my most hated line in politics I think.

I’m sorry but literally calling for the PM to resign is the definition of losing confidence in the government. If you throw around rhetoric like this you can’t just capitulate the moment a confidence vote comes. You look incredibly weak.

Trying to have his cake and eat it too is exactly why the NDP haven’t been able to get any real gains from the collapse of the Liberal government.

He **still** won’t commit to bringing down the government. Absolutely unbelievable. They’re going to lose Hamilton Centre.

He should resign but you won’t say you don’t have confidence in the government? Absolutely unreal

    Jagmeet is pretty screwed here.

    He knows he fucked

He wants Trudeau to resign and bail him out and avoid an election

  7. I don’t understand. His message is literally that Trudeau needs to go, but he is the one that is keeping Trudeau afloat…

Singh is lying until the very end. Talks out of both sides of his mouth, bashes Trudeau and then votes to support him. At this rate LPC and NDP will both get under 20% of the vote.

  9. Jagmeet Singh is the same leader who was “ripping up the agreement”. The same leader who told Trudeau to “stay out of the Canada Post strike” and still hasn’t said anything about the workers being forced back to work.

You can’t say that Trudeau should resign, while refusing to commit to bringing the Liberal government down in a confidence vote. Jagmeet Singh is all talk. All bark and no bite. He’s not beating the theatrics allegations. And this is why he is not going to be Prime Minister or lead the NDP to victory.

In a time of Liberal weakness, the NDP has typically capitalized on that. They won’t under Jagmeet Singh.

  10. I do not like Singh, I do not like Trudeau, I do not have any faith in PP.

Singh doesn’t like Trudeau and has no faith in him, however, he HATES PP. Non confidence vote means PP becomes PM. If you were him, how are you going to get the policies you value, passed? He wants to deal with Liberals, not CPC. The CPC won’t play ball with him

Singh is an embarrassment to be quite honest. He parrots tough-talk like this, and whenever it is met with the inevitable “so have you lost confidence in the government?” ask for clarification, he indicates he’s not here to play games.

Respectfully, that is exactly what he’s doing be playing both sides.

“Will you keep propping up his government regardless?”

    “Absolutely.”

(To be clear, this is a joke and not an actual quote)

For all the people wondering why the Conservatives kept puting forth confidence motions they knew had zero chance of taking down the government.

It was so during the next writ they could run attack ads featuring Jagmeet Singh saying stuff like this; paired with clips of him voting that he has confidence in the Liberal party.
