Sheikh Abd al-Rahman Fatahi was appointed as the HTS’s deputy on the Iranian issue. He emigrated from Iranian Kurdistan to Syria and founded the Iranian Sunni Kurdish movement there to help the HTS. In his speech, he praised former al-Qaeda leaders such as bin Laden, al-Zawahiri, and al-Zarqawi.
