  1. The article is headlined (Martial Law “North Wind Maneuver” Allegations, Defense Ministry Response Not Clear…)

The headline is quite abstract and difficult to understand, so the sentence immediately after the headline is used as the title.

The Ministry of National Defense has not clarified the facts of the “North Wind Maneuver” allegation that the government of Yoon Seok-yeol tried to declare martial law on the pretext of inducing a military conflict with North Korea by infiltrating Pyongyang drones and hitting the floating trash balloons.

This is the text directly below the headline. The title is a summary of this.

I have tried to summarize it in a way that does not change the meaning as much as possible, but I apologize if it is inappropriate.

Combining various testimonies and revelations, I think a plausible theory is this:

    * Yoon admin has been planning martial law since the beginning of the year, was looking for a good excuse for it
    * They sent drones to Pyongyang to induce military provocation by NK, but got frustrated that NK wasn’t reacting the way they planned
    * So, the defense minister ordered a direct strike at NK where trash balloons originated, but the ROK military refused the order
    * Finally, on Dec. 3, they just brute-forced their way through a peacetime martial law, absent of a NK provocation (possibly tried to frame as NK infiltration using HID units)

This kind of angle will need some strong evidence and backing. If true, it is very dangerous. If false, this would impact the trust in the media.

So, not that I want to give North Korea too much credit, but they actually knew what Yoon was up to? Given their response (blowing up the bridge etc.).

    Just asking.

Also, this seems like plots straight out of Steel Rain, wonder if Yoon got inspired by coup movies.

Clean house of everyone that knew and didn’t say anything or were in favour of going ahead with it all. They are all national security risks and would-be perpetrators of massacres.
