Still getting mad about the cost of diplomatic junkets in 2024, whether they’re municipal, provincial or federal, is deranged at this point.

  2. I dont know if I’m more offended by the sheer extravagance of the money spent per person or that they wasted our tax dollars on Madame Web.

102 dollars on DVDs? That’s what, four DVDs? Settle down.

Thumbs up for supporting Sam the Record man.

$145/meal. Yes, that is definitely on the high end for dining out. However, lets remember these are meals served on tight schedules, many while on planes, travelling through multiple countries and with various security protocols in place due to the people being served the meals. The logistics to make this all happen aren’t great and we can’t expect, and shouldn’t, expect our national leaders to be travelling around with packs of ramen noodles.

This is a giant nothing burger and a drop in the ocean of other fiscal issues that we should be paying attention to.

I don’t really care about things like this, I care that somehow his Government blew half a trillion dollars during COVID and have nothing to show for it. I care that so much Government money has seemingly gone to friends of the Liberals and any sort of investigation into that gets squashed by the very people who would be potentially implicated in things.

    >That was followed by an $812.56 shopping trip to the Belleville ***No Frills*** to purchase soft drinks, bottled water, Excel gum and chocolate bars.

    Those Gucci government bastards.

Yes it costs money to have our head of government do what he needs to do. I’m assuming you all will be out with pitchforks when PP starts and it’s ends up being more money

    It’s horrible.

At the same time I’m sure Poilievre will live on mac and cheese at these foreign summits.

Harper spent an over billion to host it in 2010. I don’t like any of the extravagance but 71k is a drop in a bucket compared to $1.1 billlion

For the downvotes, I think they spent around 200k on a fake waterfall pond thing

Maybe I’m blind but does it ever say for how many people this is for or is it hiding that for rage bait?

It only matters if thats more than the other attendees. Show the bills!

Meanwhile I’m putting the $30.78 pack of chicken back for the $28.32 pack

My gods! Did they stock up at Loblaws before going on the trip?

Cool. Glad we’re getting 250 bucks. It’s almost the same thing. Right?

I’m starting to think these articles are pushed by the government to take the focus away from their sheer incompetence at everything else, like immigration.

  16. Jeez. Cmon everybody every government ever has done this crap. It’s not real money… it’s just OUR money. Always the same for all of them. The hard truth is all of our choices for political leadership stink right now. Right when we need it desperately.

I figure there’s an insane amount of security around food for a group of world leaders.

Oh wow, 71k is a big number huh.

It’s also worthless. A completely meaningless statistic. The spend per person per meal is a just a teensy tiny bit more relevant, don’t you think? But if you look at that number, you realize you have to get angry about something else.

  19. So fucking easy to get engagement just appease to the “fuck trudeau” crowd, i bet you they think he spent 71k all by himself

He fucking sucks but its ridiculous how clickbait shit became

Look, if Trump can serve his White House guests McDonald’s and KFC, so can Trudeau. /s
