    2. Is this the first photo of a space junk flyby where we can actually see it? I don’t recall anything like this.

      But… the thumbnail is clearly an ‘artists impression’ and the 3D scan/gif further down the article is from August so… did it take photos? It sounds like it made a close approach to 15m then aborted. Which is still cool but honestly who writes these?

      Sort of misleading headline. That’s the mission of this particular spacecraft, to get really close to existing things in space.

      It’s not like they were just minding their own business while recording a selfie and were buzzed by an unknown peice of space debris.
