**Sky News Arabia published a dramatic report about documents found after the fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.**
The documents, which were published on social media, raise a series of messages that were transmitted from Israel to Syria regarding the Iranian presence, its proxy organizations, and arms transfers from Tehran.
Despite the fact that the authenticity of the documents is not fully verified, they bear the emblem of the Syrian state and appear to have been written by the Syrian military command.
At the center of the report is a mysterious agent named “Musa” or “Moses,” who, according to the documents, conveyed messages directly to former Syrian Defense Minister Ali Mahmoud Abbas, and later to Assad’s former National Security Advisor, Ali Mamlouk.
The content of the messages presents a picture of rigid and aggressive communication from Israel, expressing discontent over Syria’s approval of Hezbollah and Iran’s activities within its territory.
The documents reveal a series of serious Israeli warnings.
In April 2023, the agent warned about the launch of three rockets from the Golan Heights by Hamas under the command of Khaled Mashal. “Three rockets were launched from the Golan under the command of Khaled Mashal.” We demand that you stop these preparations or there will be consequences. “You are responsible for what happens on your land,” he wrote.
“Our last step was a warning shot.” If you do not restrain these actions, the next attack will be much harder. “You will pay an unprecedented price.”
In May 2023, following an Israeli attack on weapons depots associated with Hezbollah’s Golan file, the agent firmly stated that Israel “will not allow the presence of Hajj Ashraf or his fighters in southern Syria.”
He specifically referred to Mousa Ali Daqdouq, also known as Abu Hussein Sajjad, who was reported to have been killed in an Israeli strike.
Another key event described in the documents is the landing of eight planes at the Khmeimim base on May 17, 2023 – four “Iran Air” planes and four Syrian Ilyushin planes, which allegedly transported weapons to warehouses in Latakia and Qutayfah. The agent warned that “support for Iran and Hezbollah will necessitate serious action,” emphasizing that any activity without supervision would be considered “a direct threat to Israel.”
In another statement from July 14, 2023, the agent expressed clear dissatisfaction with the cooperation between Iran and Hezbollah, claiming that “support for Hezbollah’s air defense capabilities is an action against Israel” which “serves only Hezbollah’s interests and harms the Syrian army.”
It is important to emphasize that the documents have not yet been independently verified, and any reference to them should be cautious and measured.

Why are we hearing this now? Assad is gone already.

I’m more curious if Israel has since communicated to the new Syrian government

Add to the fact Assafd for the most part was criticized for staying out of the Hamas war (for the most part) in Gaza following oct.7th and for the most part was criticized by Hezbollah for staying out of the re ent war, and the fact Assad was limiting Iran activity per the arab states carrot and stick approach to get Syria back into the arab Leauge and arab fold, and now these contacts being revealed, I think Assad really was trying to find a balance of keeping Iran happy bit increasingly at bay, not being seen as a “sellout” on the Palestinian front but not doing much for the most part, and trying to prevent Israel going to war with Syria, but ultimately failed in his balancing act.

Wonder what happens now in Lebanon with Turkey filling the void among the sunni community following the Gulf States pulling their economic support of Lebanon over their frustration with Hezbollah proxy control of Lebanon, and now that the two biggest Shia groups Hezbollah and Amal (ironocally in lebanese politics everyone actually hates the leader of Amal more than hezbollah), as well as the Druze psp (who swings back and fourth between pro-Syrian and anti-syrian depending on the what they feel needed to survive), and the labanese branch of the SSNP all lost their backer and supporter in Syria, will Lebanon flip with a maronite-Sunni alliance aimed at limiting Iran and Hezbollah influence?
