      I’m surprised this didn’t happen ages ago, especially given that it’s basically been a stable functioning state that even has free elections.

      Also good move to get ahead of China in establishing good terms with them. It could also allow intelligence operations to monitor weapon movements and Houthi activities. Recognizing it could also bring Ethiopia closer to aligning with the US.

      However, this move would most likely upset Somalia, Egypt, and Türkiye.
