Hasn’t been the poorest for several years. Based on IMF data: [third poorest](https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/NGDPDPC@WEO/OEMDC/ADVEC/WEOWORLD) if we’re looking at GDP per capita, and [second poorest](https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/PPPPC@WEO/OEMDC/ADVEC/WEOWORLD) if we’re looking at PPP figures. There is also a trend, i.e. it’s projected to be 9th poorest by 2029 (also based on IMF data).

My sincere hope is that journalists stop using these outdated, clickbaity and snippety titles just because they’ve seen it in a 2015 Washington Post article that was using data from 15-20 years ago.

“How a country with 2.4 mil population size is integrating 120k Ukrainian refugees” would be much more accurate and appropriate.
