  1. Animal cruelty is a major problem in Armenia and a lot of Armenian are embarrassed to bring light to it (especially around foreigners) because it exposes other ugly sides of Armenian society.

There are many things that any community can do to humanly reduce the population of stray animals and make sure they aren’t aggressive, but one of the two things usually happen, either they are ignored, or people let their own animal side take over and start treating a stray animal as their competitor, for example if you feed a stray dog it will upset some people and they will tell you that you should feed people instead, because they are jealous of the dog getting food for simply being a dog. Naturally the same person wants to hurt the dogs later, and of course they will never feed a human themselves lol.

Once in a while a stray dog may attack a human, which will trigger a nationwide hunt on dogs by the people, the senseless killing brings these people joy and sense of justice being done against animals. The way I see it it’s animals vs animals, these people who torture defenseless animals, deserve to he dehumanized to the point where they are no longer recognized as humans themselves by the healthy segment of the society.

Honestly a nationwide therapy is in order to address all the fucked up mentality shit, including the treatment towards humans and beings that this society deems as inferior.

brilliant idea! but unfortunately we have other important things to worry about, for example, inviting another old rapper who nobody cares about for millions to “promote tourism”

Thank you for caring. There are organizations working on the sterilization project and I’m sure they could use another volunteer for TNR.

The problem is there’s only ONE animal shelter in Armenia and it’s located in Yerevan. Even if you could influence Armenians to take in strays as pets, that wouldn’t automatically make them good pet owners. You’re right in that it’s an attitude problem.

Thank you for bringing this to light, a recent Armenian guy went viral for killing that cat and hope that reminds people that animals are beings too. They have feelings just like us, they deserve compassion and love too.

  6. Ah, they are beautiful. Poor babies. My dad is Armenian but not from Armenia and every time he goes there he gets upset about how animals are treated. Honestly it’s shameful and so sad. People need to be prosecuted for animal cruelty, and they need to sterilise them more widely.
