Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, Chief of the Defence Staff, warned this week that the world is “at the dawn of a third nuclear age” at the annual Rusi lecture, in which he pointed to the combined threats we face from four adversaries in particular: Russia, North Korea, Iran and China.

“China is opaquely developing its nuclear arsenal,” a senior Nato diplomat told *The i Paper.* “They are hiding what they are doing, rather than being open with us.”
