There is a lot of competition for a flat. If the landlord doesn’t want to see you in person to make a selection among candidates (because they want low-maintenance tenants), it’s a scam. If you need to pay money before you have the key in your hand, it’s a scam.
New rule of Thomb: if it feels Like Scam, it is propably a Scam! When something feels to good to be true… you can bet your pelvis that it isn‘t true!
100% scam. Also doesn’t make sense: „We don’t have time for this, so we hired a company to manage *the entire* process for us. This is why *we* write you this long email and ask you to send *us* all information that we then have to process.“
It’s definitely a scam.
