    In Brief:

    * Canada needs to significantly strengthen its border, says Peter Wilkinson, former chief of staff to Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly, because it can’t absorb large numbers of migrants who could flee here to evade U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s pledge of mass deportations.
    * “We just can’t take 11 million people. We can’t even take one million people or 500,000 people,” he said in an interview. “We have to stop people from coming in. We will be faced with something that as Canadians, that we never really faced before.”
    * Mr. Wilkinson said the country’s health care and social-welfare systems can’t handle potentially huge numbers of people crossing into Canada.

Not to mention when the underground railroad starts again to smuggle women to safety away from the “Your body my choice” crowd

Our healthcare and social welfare systems have already been driven over the edge, Canada can’t take in any more migrants.

and yet how many TFWs and other migrants are we bringing from the rest of the world?

immigration needs to be zero for a good 5 years.

Former top aide has it all wrong. Migrants are flowing self through the border packed with Fentanyl.

    Trump has said so..

Shouldn’t there be a lot of educated Liberals with money coming?

  7. They won’t be able to stop it. I won’t be surprised if we get over 1 million illegal migrants from the U.S. in the next 4 years. And this will happen in the middle of the upcoming recession.

If you think it’s bad now, it will get SO MUCH worse.

Let’s threaten them with tariffs until they secure the border. It’s a strategy Trump seems to understand.

Soooooo, we’re at the “build a wall” stage?

Not entirely sure how Canada can stop people from coming in, what with the lax refugee and asylum policies it has and the large, unguarded border. Something’s going to have to change – I suspect asylum and deportation policy will be the first dominos to fall.

I’m not sure Canada has the appetite for the violence necessary to dissuade panicked Americans from fleeing.

Why would we want to take them in. If they dont enter legaly through a port of entry send em back to whence they came.
