      I welcome the lawsuit, but use Firefox with the appropriate blockers.

      If it ever comes to court they’ll probably be fined 3 tubes of smarties and a well-thumbed copy of the Beano – or the equivalent to Alphabet in money (a few million…a couple of days profit). We have lost the ability to sanction adequately these multi national behemoths.

      I don’t know, android is owned by google. I think it should be expected that android would have google as default. There is plenty of search engines readily available, if consumers use google then it is their choice.

      It’s no different than Microsoft shipping windows with the Xbox and 365 apps.

      I always find these things odd. I honestly couldn’t give a crap google has a monopoly on search engines. It means we all know where we’re going and what we’re searching. Not everything has to have competition

      As an advertiser, I really don’t want hundreds of search engines. Also, Google may suck up all yr data but it’s a quid pro quo. They get my data, I get Google maps and Google earth, 5gig of cloud, plus free spreadsheet, Word equivalent, Gmail, free coding tutors.
      Meta gives absolutely nothing back, whatsoever.

      Some businesses have higher entry barrier. There are only handful of companies in the world that can run an efficient search engine across the entire net. It’s not like a chat app where you can get 10 different choices. Something like search engine is always going to be restricted to few companies since the number of people who know how to run a planet scale system and the amount of resource required is extremely hard to
