  1. >We want the national state, not the cosmopolitan state, as Eminescu says

Yeah, great. This is exactly what Europe needs right now, division instead of unity. Because we can totally survive as a continent when we’re all isolationist/nationalist. Let’s all break into our own bubbles so not only we can squabble amongst each other but also become increasingly vulnerable to Russian conquest. Hell, maybe we can even return to how Europe was historically, with European nations warring each other on top of that.

This is truly miserable to witness.

if its the weakest alliance then there is no reason to raise security concerns over the expansion?

  3. how is this guy treating hungarian minorities? Asking mainly romanians

  4. I mean if it is so weak why does its expansion justify Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.., Where are people’s brains?

It’s always interesting to listen to those mind-fucked pro-Russian politicians:

‘The sanctions aren’t working. Let’s lift them, so they work even worse’,

‘Nato is weak. Let’s weaken it even more’,

    and other shit like that.

Imagine he becomes president, pulls out of NATO, and Russia or Turkey attacks Romania. 😂

  7. Remember when EU treated Romania as a second class country and people warned about this increasing extremists to get voted in? You dont want an equal romania well guest you pushed it to become a russian puppet.

There is still a chance to get a pro eu president but the people expressed their opinion already even if Lasconi wins.

  8. These edgy “nationalist” politicians are the reason why the world is collapsing, fuck them all

  9. Trollercoaster101 on

Sometimes doing nothing is exactly why an alliance is strong and not weak, but its strenght isn’t immediately clear to the general public nor its work is always public and open.

On the other end you might immediately see why it wasn’t weak in the first place if you leave it.

  10. From Umberto Eco’s practical list for identifying Fascists, number 8 on the list:

The enemy is both weak and strong. “[…] the followers must be convinced that they can overwhelm the enemies. Thus, by a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.”

Alliance so weak it never defended its members in its history!

The more I pay attention to European elections, the more I realize that if Europe had the two party system that America does, there would be European Trumps all over the continent. The only thing that separates us is that Europe has a second round fail safe in their elections where a crazy person can be defeated.

It seems to me that Eastern Europe want the good old USSR days back. Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia, Moldova and now Romania! Its fine with but dont ask for our EU-support then. Just leave!

Reason why education is important and ehy we suck because we allocate so few mil euro to education each year

    This is the result

  15. Absolutely insane that any Romanians voted for the “kneel to Moscow” candidate.

  16. MyPinkFlipFlops on

Ok so ‘random’ anti-NATO, anti-EU, pro-“tongue in russias ass” guy pulls up from nowhere getting high scores, is it RIP Romania that now joins Slovakia and Hungary or what is the general threat this man caused, could someone summarize?

Offered hotnews as a legit source and even the article on hotnews doesnt offer any sources.

Without NATO, USA and Vatican city would be the strongest allianze on earth. STFU Georgescu.

  19. We gotta be officially the dumbest country in europe if this mofo becomes president, fml….not that we are far from being already anyways

Another Russian Manchurian candidate, with all the Putin sockpuppets the whole thing is starting to look like another Puppetmaster movie, you know those classic cult horror movies.

  21. He’s actually pulling from fascist rhetoric, in România they were called the legioneers, from Legion, or green shirts. He’s tapping into a resource that not even 50 years of communism was able to destroy, and he’s doing it better than any other candidate.

Just so you know, Romania spoke latin before romans did, we caused the collapse of the roman empire, after russia and the saudis, we have the biggest oil reserves in the world.

His economic plan is to bring romania back to our roots, literally, as in back to agriculture. It’s the only way we’ll rise from poverty. Working the land is the way to get out of poverty. Industrialization is for suckers.

He may sound like Putin because Putin is taping the same pre soviet nostalgia feeling of working the ancestral land. Of the holy empire, the holy cause.

    It’s just insane.

We need to get rid of this man coming from nowhere, bought with Russia Bribering votes.

  23. Georgescu is a pro-fascist, Anti-Eu, Anti-Nato that was helped with the russian money and with China (Tiktok).

Tiktok only showed clips about him, how he glorifies Romania.
He came of out the blue, he was nobody until recently.

Manipulation at it’s prime, Romanians who voted for him are usefull idiots…..thrust me I am Romanian.

  24. FemRevan64 on

I mean he’s technically right in the sense that NATO is letting themselves get bullied by Russia, as even as they’re actively sabotaging our infrastructure and political systems, all our leaders do is send them strongly worded letters.

That and they’re constantly terrified of “escalation”, even though Putin’s made around 40 nuke threats and redlines, and each time we’ve crossed them, he’d done nothing.

That and even almost 3 years into the war, our MIC’s are laughably behind, one recent report found that Russia produced around as many artillery shells in the span of three months as the entire EU over a year.

  25. itisnotstupid on

All the ex-USSR satelite countries are doomed to go back to russia’s politics. It is inevitable. THere is too many people there who still think that the ”good old days” were better.
