I live in what is now Don Galo and Palanyag. Apparently, Don Galo was named after a man named Galo, who got the title of Don after inciting a successful counterattack against a Chinese pirate and warlord that tried to take over Manila.

Also interesting how the name Palanyag got corrupted by the Spanish to what it is now known today: Parañaque
