      Doesn’t the Detroit River have a very serious undertow? I recall hearing of people drowning in it when I lived there so I’m not sure how easy it would be to swim across.

      Hypothermia wouldn’t take long. The average water temperature would be about 10c.

      No, Americans will all be crossing to Canada at Akwesasne, because that’s where all the Indians are crossing to the US right now.

      I don’t think they’re saying that Americans are going to be fleeing across the water, but it’s entirely possible that undocumented people in the US might start coming to Canada if the mass deportation threats actually pan out.

      I certainly hope not! I’m all for diversity but where are they going to live? Winter is coming and a tent isn’t going to cut it. The shelters are full with people who are here legally. Then those who can no longer afford rents. At least have the good sense to move south for the winter.
