watches are calculated by adding up the two most viewed videos with the song as it’s main focus on youtube, and the two most streamed single with the song as it’s main focus on spotify
remixes count towards the count as long as they aren’t wildly different from the source material, i figured if i did it this way it would be a bit more accurate to the most popular videogame songs.
obviously the numbers are skewered towards songs that aren’t constantly taken down on platforms for copyright issues, but this is the best i could do
this only counts songs part of the official ost of a game, so no fan songs.

Crazy because so many of the best songs I’ve heard are on older games, I think this data shows that younger people are the ones likely listening to most of these.
