      Everything I can find says that either the elk or the moose is the national animal of Norway.

      I thought his in the case of hreat britain depends on the definition of national. As scotland has the unicorn and wales the dragon.

      What about the lion of Judah in Ethiopia? It even used to be on their flag

      Unfortunately I can only say that the emblem of Iran today is not the lion. Today the Islamic Republic uses the moon as a symbol.

      A symbol that only seeks to please those loyal to the regime.
