Never forget! Light a candle

I remember a documentary about a survivor who came to Argentina. He said that one day the soldiers came to his house and when they saw his grandmother almost dead in her bed they told him “we should take her to the grave now so we don’t have to come later.” The survivor said that was the last time he saw his grandmother.

My family was very fortunate to live in western Ukraine but during the Soviet rule (from 1939 to 1941) they lived the hard reality of the collectivisation. My grandmother told me that she needed to hide some of the production in order to have some left to them. She told me that during a visit to the market she saw that someone put a rope in a dead chicken’s neck with a a sign that said “I hanged because I can’t afford the quota”.

Let us also remember the [Ukrainian Kobzars](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zkfYNVq_jE), travelling musicians who sang the glorious stories of Ukraine. They were lured to Kharkiv by Stalin, for a congress, and executed outside the city.

Because so many died, Stalin had Russians move in. This is why so many Crimeans accepted the Russian invasion

Most Russian won’t even accept the fact that their government murdered 3.5-5 million innocent civilians. They belong with the likes of Iran and North Korea. Dirty backwards terrorists.
