That’s just fucking black mirror crazy. What a world we live in.
According to the telegram channel that published this video, it was not possible to accept and effectuate a surrender.
The channel does not say why. But it’s likely because this FPV drone did not have enough battery to bring him back, and they didn’t have another drone near him to take over.
Obligatory….. Should have stayed home
I dont celebrate this or condemn it. Its the reality of this war. Ukraine doesnt know how its going to look in 3 months time, the hatred they must have, being dependant on one country (that has decided to vote in favour of selling you off) and the other to take your identity and democracy away.
Man, unarmed…
Literal war crime. Don’t know how to feel about this.
Man-made horrors
This is horrible
That’s a straight up war crime….
Looks like he was unarmed and trying to surrender. Raised both hands to show he wasn’t trying to fight.
Stuff of nightmares
Yeah naw this is fucked up. He looked like he was surrendering. Then just fucking with him until they killed him.
All alone in the middle of nowhere, unarmed, your life in the hands of a small flying machine.
Why are there so many single outed soldiers?
Yah. This is fucked. I pray this war ends soon and doesn’t spread
Bro would’ve been alive if he was just chilling in Russia.
I understand why it happened and it brings me back to a scene in Saving Private Ryan.
A pivotal moment arises from the squad’s earlier decision to release a captured German soldier, “Steamboat Willie,” instead of killing him. Later, during a climactic battle, Private Mellish is overpowered and killed in a brutal knife fight, while Upham, paralyzed by fear, fails to intervene. It’s revealed that “Steamboat Willie” has rejoined the German forces, indirectly contributing to Mellish’s death and others, including Captain Miller. The scene underscores the tragic consequences of moral decisions in war, where acts of mercy can lead to devastating outcomes.

Damn, S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 footage looks crazy
Why do people feel bad for this guy? It’s not like he was conscripted, he joined the war to kill Ukrainians because russia offered him money to do so. If he’s fine with taking Ukrainian lives for money he should be fine knowing those Ukrainians he would have killed will kill him
A man dies because a drone was too low on battery to escort him away as a prisoner.
I’m about as pro Ukraine as anyone, but this is damned shameful.
This comes off as a fucking war crime. Hard to see if he was unarmed, or combat capable, but taunting him then in all reality executing him with his hands up seems inhumane.
Na. He’s clearly scared, unarmed, and surrendering.
You can’t just execute someone who has surrendered because it’s inconvenient.
Good job Ivan.
Hundreds of thousands down the drain by a $200 drone. Math says a good deal. Moral sense… cloudy.
War is hell.
Icl this is just sad to watch, but it is what it is I guess
There’s a foolproof way for a Russian man to not die by drone strike in Ukraine.
Should’ve stayed home. If you’re invading a foreign land, you don’t get a say in how the defenders deal with you.
The moment right before your face, your hands and half your torso get blown off. What frightening times.
Famous last words………veni, vedi, mori
Considering how many Ukrainian POWs have been recently executed, I am not surprised here, to quote Neitzsche, “He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you”.
Why was he moving towards the drone near the end – and why did he attempt to grab it? Shouldn’t he be distancing himself from the drone?
“I just murdered people and invaded a country… I lost my advantage and now am scared and begging for my life.”
Choices have consequences.
Ukraine has proven they accept POWs.
We only see a small window into this soliders time on the battlefield, he is not innocent.
That’s a war crime. Anyone attempting to justify it by pointing to Russia’s actions is entirely devoid of moral integrity
So if I fly a drone at a civilian and hit a button it isn’t murder? Someone help me understand how this logic of no war crime makes sense. No weapon, no threat, unless that’s not the roe?
He cant surrender because of the situation, I can understand that, so killing him was the only acceptable option for the Ukranians. But toying with him is a bit fucked. Thats the bit I cant agree with, if the drone just came in at speed and took him out without a second thought it would be acceptable.
Making him scream and beg before blowing him up, just isnt a good look at all. No matter what side you are on.
I’m staggered how warfare has changed. I remember watching some grainy footage of a bomb being guided down an elevator shaft of some building in Iraq in the nineties. Now we are watching up and close and personal footage like this. Imagine what we are gonna be watching in another thirty years.
why do these drone assholes always do this? its so sadistic. just put the guy out of his misery and get it over and done with. if they had to actually go out into the field theyd have a different attitude but theyre sitting behind their computer and there is a dissociation where it suddenly feels like hes just trolling someone on an online videogame.
Seems like the drone operator is just toying with him? Jesus.
He looked unarmed.
This is a war crime
Song name?
Do they have too fucking torture them like that? I’m not pro Russia but this is fucked, there’s a good chance that dude was a conscript.
Fuck drone operators, they’re not real soldiers
