    Schwarzer Tourist in Istanbul?

    Hallo Leute haha,

    Ich fliege in 3 Wochen für eine Zahnerneuerung/Urlaub in die Türkei. Ich frage mich, wie es in Istanbul darum geht, ein schwarzer Tourist zu sein.

    Ich war Anfang des Jahres mit zwei meiner anderen schwarzen Freunde in Antalya und da wir ein Auto gemietet hatten, waren wir nicht oft mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln unterwegs.

    Selbst als wir auf den Markt gingen und einfach durch die Stadt Antalya spazierten, hatte ich fast das Gefühl, dass sie unsere Farbe nicht sehen würden.

    Gelegentlich hatten wir die einen oder anderen Leute, die versuchten, uns zu betrügen und uns zu viel zu berechnen, aber ich glaube, weil wir eine Dreiergruppe waren, waren sie nicht so hartnäckig, weil wir auch etwas unnahbar wirkten, schätze ich.

    aber dieses Mal gehe ich alleine😬

    Ich möchte nicht nicht freundlich sein, aber manchmal, wenn man zu freundlich ist, versuchen die Leute, seine Freundlichkeit auszunutzen, besonders an Orten, an denen man die Muttersprache nicht versteht.

    Könnt ihr mir ein paar Tipps geben, wie ich mich in Istanbul fortbewegen kann?

    Als schwarze Person interessiere ich mich auch ein wenig für das Nachtleben, daher würde ich mich über einige Empfehlungen freuen, in welche Clubs oder Bars ich gehen sollte und wie ich mich nachts wirklich verhalten soll.

    Offensichtlich bin ich ein Mann, also hätte ich nichts gegen ein türkisches Mädchen 😂 Wie ist die Situation in Bezug auf Frauen und schwarze Männer in Istanbul 😭😂?

      I’m not from Istanbul myself, so I can’t give many tactics, but if you are comfortable with your skin color in Antalya, you will be much more comfortable in Istanbul because it is a much more international place. (By the way, people are trying to write KARA BOĞA in letters in the comments, which means black bull, its not a offensive thing just a joke :))

      Buy İstanbulkart.
      Install Istanbulkart application.
      Install Moovit in your phone.
      Moovit is a good app that helps your travel gives you recommendations about which metro, ferry or metrobüs you should use.

      Avoid being in traffic between times 18:00-19:45.

      Enjoy your Travel.
      Travel with ferry if you can.
      Visit Dolmabahce Palace,
      Visit BJK Tüpras Stadium
      Visit BJK Kartal Yuvası (under the stadium) Buy some scarf, badge, t-shirt or even jersey. Beşiktaş people welcomes Black people with Beşiktaş product warmly.

      Klein, Klein Phoenix, Kastel these are famous night clubs for Istanbul. They are okayish… Check bugece.co website it’s organizator and maybe you can buy ticket for your specific DJ or Musician.

      Istanbul is like any other megacity. It can absolutely be dangerous, just like anywhere else. but generally speaking, you’ll one among 16 million other people there, so you won’t really stand out much. Plenty of other black folks in the city. Turks tend not to be racist towards black people, but in smaller places, you may be approached by people who are just curious. They’ll want to chat with you, test their English etc. It’s all quite innocent. But again, it is a megacity, there are a lot of unsavory types there, who will absolutely fuck you in every conceivable way if you let them. Beware.

      There is no racism against black people in Turkey. If you go to a night club, can find girls who wants to try black D 😅

      would it be a smarter idea to buy my drinks before going to the club just to eliminate the chances of being scammed ?😂

      – locals will do anything to scam anyone, doesnt matter if ur german, russian, arab or black

      – most turkish people have sympathy for black people

      – there will probably be turkish chicks at clubs that will find you attractive, just be yourself, try having a small talk but move on if its a no. also watch out if they are with or without men. turkish men might be jeaolous of you due to anatomical reasons lmao

      – dont get in fights or discussions with turks, ik there arent crip or bloods gangs out there but the patience and tolerance of the society in general are literally 0 at this moment due to current situation of turkey (bad economy, overall bad life quality etc…) just stay in your lane, enjoy yourself and the time being in turkey.

      note: any local here can correct me if I talked bullshit

      We will say N word to your face but we dont hate you. Karaboga, zenci got and N word. You’ll hear those things. We have lot of illegal immigrants which means you aint safe in istanbul. so if you a college boy our slums may treat you little harsh 🙂

      dw bout it really we only discriminate arabs black people we cherish fr, but still there is a high chance they will try to scam so my suggestion would be never buy something without a specific price tag otherwise they’ll try to scam you fr (not something special for blacks but all tourists)

      Turkish people have nothing against black people, there are some extreme nationalists but even they don’t have a spesific attitude towards a skin colour. Be careful about scammers. Good luck!

      It’ll be mixed, some ppl will treat you like African street vendors, some will treat you like Arab, sone will treat you like a decent human being regardless of your color. But Turkey is number two most angry country in the world so don’t take all the shit personally or racially. I’m a “white” turk and most them are assholes to me too 🤷
