      These people didn’t get to where they are in the business world by not understanding basic economics…

      Yeah, they were hyping the media about cutting down $500 billion in Federal spending, and using some examples as planned parenthood ($300m), The Corporation for Public Broadcasting ($535m), international organizations ($1.5b) which amount to a whole 0.467% of their proposed cuts.

      I think the elephant in the room is that defense and VA account for 67% of all federal employees. That’s literally where most of the money goes.

      Another factor is that red states and counties have some of the highest number of federal employees.

      If they’re going to make big cuts, it is literally impossible to not also fire their own voters. So let’s see how that plays out.

      It’s a bummer because the civil service has real problems. It has those problems for understandable reasons but it has problems nonetheless. There are some places we could make smart changes. Not as much about saving money as by making sure we actually get the results we are paying for. The American people see those problems and the parties gave them two choices: blind defense or dynamite. They finally chose the only “fix” they were being offered.

      Fox and MAGA are acting as if the concept of makings things more efficient is a new concept. No we’re not against it. We just know it’s a front for self gain and corruption.

      All the articles in my news feed for days have headlines like, “Ramseorthy and Musk say they are looking forward towards bureaucratic tears”, etc…

      It’s called the Office of Management and Budget.

      Musk’s Twitter takeover resulted in the loss of 6,000 jobs, an 80% decline in company value, around 50% loss in revenue, increased debt burden, and still has a negative cash flow.

      In short, he is a fucking idiot and does not understand efficiency, let alone the differences between government and commercial business and operations.

      Sounds like they are going to make cuts then get the government contracts to privatize what they cut.

      Doesn’t matter. The goal is to chip away at the system. They’ll use the supreme court to slowly declare anything that uses federal funds to actually help people unconstitutional. They’re already giving side-eye to PBS.
