It’s between 2.1 – 2.3 in India. It fell pretty fast in the last 2 decades.

In Spain public health access is available if at least one member of the family is working and paying taxes which is economically not quite sustainable. So if the father is working and paying taxes, his 4 children and wife/s have access to public services.

The Data is between 2010 and 15, which is quite interesting. In India, Muslims have had the fastest decline in TRF among different religious groups. I think it is now 2.36, almost at replacement. There is still a continuing downward trend. They still have the highest TRF among religious groups in India. If I am not wrong in Kashmir the TRF is much lower than the national average. Likewise in the South, I think it’s the same. It is interesting to see where the population of Muslims is mostly going to grow in India (I do have a fair idea, but would like to read a paper about it ). Also, I read this paper. In 2050 India will have the largest Muslim population in the world, yet they will still be less the 20% of the Indian population. Thats crazy. I am guessing irrespective of religion the next 15 years( at least) is going to see a great reducing in TRF around the world.

An indicator that birthrates might be more related to culture than religion. Would be interesting to see this side by side with Christians, Hindus, etc.
