*Submission Statement:* The Solomon Islands has drawn closer to China under “OUR Party”-led coalition rule, signing a secretive policing pact with Beijing in 2022, and causing alarm in Western countries. Just two months before the 2024 elections in Solomon Islands, a shell company named OUR International Development Fund Pte Ltd was established in Singapore by the president of the leading coalition party, Jimson Fiau Tanangada, and the son of then-prime minister Manasseh Sogavare, Brandt Sogavare, alongside a Chinese partner. Despite the company’s name resembling the OUR Party, Tanangada denied any affiliation with the party claiming it was a private venture. The company’s purpose remains unclear, and its registration raised suspicions due to its secretive nature and involvement of figures with ties to China. Opposition leaders have questioned the true intentions behind the company’s formation, suggesting possible political motives related to Solomon Islands’ growing relationship with China.
