Some jail time would be good…

    > King has been found guilty of five charges: two counts of disobeying a court order and one each of mischief, counselling to commit mischief and counselling to obstruct a public or peace officer.

    > King is expected to be sentenced Jan. 16.

    > Crown prosecutor Moiz Karimjee told the court he’s seeking a significant penalty for King. A mischief conviction carries a maximum sentence of 10 years.

Meanwhile we have actual terrorist supporters on our campuses and streets firebombing synagogues, shooting at schools and chanting “Death to Canada”, weeks on without end. Later people will wonder why people no longer have trust in our institutions.

I hope everyone who thinks this is okay will maintain the same energy when it is reciprocated 10 fold once the other guys get into power.

A professional grievance troll gets his come uppance should be the title of the article.

  4. I know people will give purely emotional responses in this thread and gang rage downvote me. I personally don’t care for someone like King, but I am strong believer of rule of law- whether or not we subjectively dislike/disagree with someone should not be a factor in changing or applying the law.

So what we have here is that he is facing up to a decade locked up for leading a peaceful protest and encouraging people to hit the horn because it “disrupted” the city. It is arguable whether he should be punished or not for this. However, if he is to be punished, I think it would be only fair for the government to also be punished for their measures during the pandemic, which were easily more “disruptive” to not just the city but the country.

JT govt’s use of emergency act to shut down this protest, that this person is facing a decade for, was actually deemed illegal by the courts. Yet zero punishment for the government.

    Is this consistent with:

    Is this democratic?

What is the point of having 3 so called separate branches if the judiciary will solely go after civilians and allow the executive (government) to practically do whatever they want with no penalty?
