I hope they do continue to rise because that makes the competition to get women easier and easier

This will probably change when our “bread baskets” are dead due to factory farming practices.

The fast food culture literally doesn’t do any good for anyone. It’s sad for the USA. Now, China and Russia must be laughing all the way with the obesity expectations in the USA, as they are doing better. Does this also explain the reason for the overproduction of drones? No one wants to run through the swamp with a belly like that anymore. So, they stay in air conditioning, eating fast food, and bombing everyone in third-world countries

I’m gonna try to learn from China. I’ll only eat dogs and bats from now on.

Sorry but I can’t agree with France and Netherlands. Barely saw any obese people there.

Its strange how little its projected to rise in China. Its a significantly wealthier country than Russia in PPP terms, so they can afford meat. The obesity rate is already 14%, and, according to this [random paper online](https://dom-pubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/dom.15238), projected to increase to approx 24% in 2030.
Similarly, I wonder why the Congo is projected to have a greater obesity rate than Ethiopia. The latter nation has the largest cattle industry in Africa and is significantly wealthier than the Congo. Both have internal conflict, sure, but the Congo has a far higher prevalance of crime and ranked higher on corruption.

Sure, if you encapsulate whole parts of the world as one because of the size of their country.

Why is China not trending fat? What can the rest learn from them about weight management?

These statistics blow my mind sometimes, I know we got a lot of obese people here but when I go out, I doesn’t feel like I see 55% or more worth of obese people, the majority of people I see are average weight or thin, & I live in a large Texas city too. I guess they lurk in the shadows?

The underlying data are a mess. As far as I can tell from cited material, this map is based on 2016 published data projecting to 2035, done without taking into consideration the evdence from the past 10 years that obesity epidemic has plateaued in many regions.

The number of ways Americans come up with to kill themselves is mindblowing. Is it the main reason that you are stupid or that you are suicidal?

Would have a MASSIVE effect on society and economy
Wild to me that folks are getting so worked up with RFK wanting to make Americans healthy…what a horrible idea!!! 😆

Stop blaming the food. Buy a bag of peanuts and brown rice instead of grabbing a hamburger with cheese and the problem will work itself out. Less carbs, more fiber. Less sugar, more vegetables. Corn is 50 cents.

Has anybody else’s country just given up on this? In the UK we’ve been warned for three decades about the obesity ‘iceberg’, which, in the noughties, was predicted to hit around 2020.
Now, there is not a single mention of it and all the media and politicians talk about is the ‘NHS Crisis’.
