  1. What did he expect to happen?

Russia was just supposed to sit tight after saying for weeks not to hit Russia with western missiles?

Zelenskey gonna get his country Nuked to nothing. Putin keeps warning him. How a country like Ukraine, with no nuclear weapons, gonna keep testing a country that has nukes lol. It blows my mind. Just fight your war with conventional weapons like you’ve been doing for the last 2 years. NATO cruise missiles aren’t going to change the war for Ukraine much at all. It’s just going to get their country obliterated and millions of people killed in one nuke explosion. That’s all it takes and Ukraine as a country is gone. Turned to ash.

  3. They have been using conventional weapons, what about ATACMS or Storm Shadow is unconventional?

So the naysayers here are saying what? Ukraine should back down and only use weapons that are well below the destructive capabilities of russian, north korean, iranian, etc. weapons to avoid putin’s panties getting into a twist?

That’s ridiculous! Ukraine has more right to live in freedom and peace in their own sovereign territory than any russian has. There’s a reason why the bad guys are always russian in movies, books, civilian life and in war – it’s because they ARE the bad guys and that hasn’t changed for centuries!

Who are we to decide that putin has the right to obliterate Ukrainians and their own country? Ukraine should be supplied yesterday with whatever they need to take back their territory and put putin and the russians in their rightful place, nuclear threats be damned!

he will get strong words of condemnation. Scholz being Scholz protecting russian assets and the rest of the west finding it horrible to destroy russian military equipment and staff, nothing will happen. this will lead putin to further escalate because of the lack of consequences.

“Admitting you have a problem is the first step in fixing the problem.”

Right now main problem of Ukrainian war lie in Western inability to admit that International Law not work on WMD-countries.

Therefore, West should outright state this. Like for real, literally publicly state: NO, there is no any effective inevitability of punishment for WMD-countries.

And subsequently decide between two inevitable possible realities:

    1. Investment of big risks of nuclear war into reforging of International Law.
    2. WMD-proliferation. At first among totalitarian states which would want to repeat “gas stations with nukes” 2008-2024 years success. And subsequently, among all countries which would not want to repeat Ukraine mistakes (everyone) and will have enough technologies to create WMD (also everyone).

But alas, we all know that modern Chamberlains and Kissingers will continue to pretend that “everything is fine”, which automatically will lead to second choice.

I’m sure a strong, but not too strong, email is being written as we speak. That’ll teach them.
