The good people of South Basildon & East Thurrock must be giddy with glee at the moral compass of their new MP.

Mods Disclaimer (as it appears to be needed here these days): This is sarcasm and I am not supporting violence against women or indeed anyone.

  2. Dude gets drunk and repeatedly kicks his girlfriend. Tries to downplay it and lies about it.

Farage considers him a good representative of Reform.

How stupid are these people? Did he not think that a journalist would go find out the truth about what happened rather than his fictional story? So rather than apologise and claim to have changed he outed himself as a serial liar. Its not even that hard to find its public record.

Change the law to stop people like this from becoming MPs. Convicted of a violent crime (assault, rape, murder…) – no MP job for you. Oh and add fraud to the list as well.

Get convicted as an MP, lose your job (and maybe pension as well) and a by-election is called.

  5. We should change the law, but so prisoners may be MPs. Justice for Bobby Sands.

  6. Classic Reddit chooses to omit the fact that this happened 20 years ago when he was a drunk teenager. Obviously not an excuse but you can’t hold the actions of a drunk kid as a representation of his character today. He served his sentence and seems to be rehabilitated (unless there’s another abuse charge?).

It’s only because he’s reform are people so angry at him.

  7. Reform continuing to prove its a safe haven for despicable individuals who are too unpalatable for the Tory party.

    What a low bar.
