    1. I would want this to embolden my elected officials to opposing this shit harder, but spines are hard to come by in DC.

They should be saying “Take Musk’s money and shove it up your ass”.

Alas there are no spines, only people clinging to power,

      >One Trump adviser told ABC News’s Jonathan Karl that the message to Republican senators had been, “If you are on the wrong side of the vote, you’re buying yourself a primary. That is all. And there’s a guy named Elon Musk who is going to finance it.”

Having Trump select new non-incumbent Republican Senate candidates sounds like a win-win situation to me based upon his past successes.

Except trumps endorsement means very little down ballot. The scoreboard doesn’t lie on this one

    4. Actually, there are a lot of things Trump wants to shut down like Green Energy and Health Care and quit a few others that would mean big job losses and State income in some Red States that have huge solar and wind farms and Health Care centers, etc…, so some of those Senators are screwed either way.
One thing people don’t think about or at least think through is how what they want to cut for others could have a big impact in their own State and even their own neighborhoods. I suppose they could just raise State taxes to pay for the losses.

It’ll be interesting to see how many Senators vote to pull jobs and income from their States and still make it through the primaries.

The fact that these jokers are afraid of getting primaried just says to me they’re in it for the money and insider information and benefits.

      **Not** for their constituents.

Do we need ANYMORE proof that Citizens United = legal corruption?

“The president decides his cabinet, no one else.”

Fuck right off with that shit. When a democrat is president, advise and consent means the senate decides nominations and blocks anyone who isn’t their pick. When a republican is president it’s free rein to nominate the least qualified.

I wish America was smart enough to see through this hypocrisy, but we are not. Too many tiny dicks jumping at the chance to fall in line behind a guy who compensates enough to convince them he doesn’t also have a tiny mushroom penis.

Sounds to me like president musk might be elbow deep in the sock puppet the Donald is soon.

    9. The greedlords aren’t even pretending anymore—they’re openly issuing threats to Republican senators who might dare step out of line. Trump and his billionaire backers have made it crystal clear: loyalty to the boss comes first, country and democracy be damned. This isn’t governance; it’s mob rule dressed up in a bad suit.

These threats aren’t just about Trump’s ego. They’re a warning to anyone in power who might think about resisting the greedlords’ agenda: tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy, deregulation for their profit margins, and the slow dismantling of anything that helps ordinary people. This is how they consolidate power—through fear, intimidation, and silencing dissent.

If Republican senators cave to this pressure, they’re signing away the last remnants of their party’s independence. But more than that, they’re signing away our democracy. A system where billionaires and their puppet politicians dictate the rules isn’t a republic—it’s a corporate dictatorship, and we’re all just living in it.

The question is: how much longer are we going to let the greedlords run the show? If we don’t push back, if we don’t hold every single one of these sellouts accountable, they’ll keep turning the screws until there’s nothing left for us to fight for.

If I were a democratic leader I’d tell those moderate republicans under threat that they’re welcome to join the party and wouldn’t be primaried

It’s disappointing that I wasn’t born earlier so I could avoid being witness to the fall of the country and all that comes with it.

    12. Dry-Interaction-1246 on

Susan Collins finds his threats fun and amusing. Challenge accepted.

    13. *”One Trump adviser told ABC News’s Jonathan Karl that the message to Republican senators had been, “If you are on the wrong side of the vote, you’re buying yourself a primary. That is all. And there’s a guy named Elon Musk who is going to finance it.””*

Guess Trump doesn’t understand that senators serve 6 year terms. And incumbancy is always in their favor.

      >“If you are on the wrong side of the vote, you’re buying yourself a primary. That is all. And there’s a guy named Elon Musk who is going to finance it.”

Given their respective egos and emotional intelligence, I would put money on Elon and Trump hating each other’s guts within six months. Depending on when the primaries happen, I wouldn’t be worrying about facing down Elon money.

    15. HappyHenry68 on

A lot of these Senators aren’t vulnerable to a next election threat. We will see if they stand against Gabbard and Hegseth. Those two are direct threats to our national security.

    16. OrganicCoffeeBean on

idk, i just feel like this is how you piss people off. governing is about cooperating. trump is a dipshit when it comes to teamwork. might work a bit in the short term but it won’t last long

    17. SilentRhubarb1515 on

At this point we should only be talking about eggs prices. Nothing else matters.

    18. “If you are on the wrong side of the vote, you’re buying yourself a primary. That is all. And there’s a guy named Elon Musk who is going to finance it.” What the fuck America. MAGA told us it would be George Soros who would be doing this shit.

    19. Puff_Sprinkle on

What good are threats from a president that can only be in power for four years and whose voice is actually detrimental to a lot of their races.

    20. If they got fed up with Trump’s B.S. and banded together, they could kick him out of Washington and Elon would be off inventing something or riding a rocket.

Or they could cut bait and let Trump and his cronies ride roughshod over them and leave America in a shambles.

    21. stray_snorlax44 on

      >“The president gets to decide his Cabinet, no one else” the adviser added.

Every republican in congress should be grilled on separation of powers from here to Timbuktu, and that’s from reporters and their constituents alike.

If you’re in a red state or district, call your reps incessantly with the most basic of American civics litmus tests you can find. And when they shit the bed, dress em the fuck down like the spineless coward they are.

And then do it again the next day, and the next day, and the next day, until the sun fucking explodes.

Then when that all doesn’t work, we all meet out front the White House for the mother of all protests. Watch Winter on Fire on Netflix to study up. Pass this all along, purple monkey dishwasher.

If only they had some balls and would stand up for themselves. But…they won’t.

    24. SurroundTop1863 on

The worst is Muck. Ship that MF out of this country. I can’t wait for him to get kicked out of here!

    25. meowinloudchico on

wtf is this? He’s like the senile, decrepit grandfather threatening to write his offspring out of his will if they bend over backwards to please him. And the really pathetic thing is that Trump backed nutters I mean candidates don’t really fair very well in the general election.

    26. observingjackal on

I would say that he needs to be careful of pissing off the senators because he needs them to pass laws but, come on, we all know they are just a step above mindless automatons that march to their leader’s orders.

No point in getting my hopes up.
