I remember that day. I was a young student at the time. Was impressed and shocked how ordinary people were ready to die for this country. In 2013. Yeah I knew how big tragic was ww2, but this was so long ago not 2013. I’d never thought we will get back to ww2 russian methods.

This was first time when I looked more deep into what is happening in Ukraine.
      That was a shock.

This illustrates a stark difference between ordinary Russians and Ukrainians.

Anyone who tries to equalize the two nations or force any Ukrainian to share the stage with a Russian (especially a so-called “good” Russian) in an award ceremony is just being willfully malicious, and truly does not give an iota of a ѕhіt about the centuries of Ukrainians’ suffering at the Russians’ hands.

Russians today can only fantasize (or cope and seethe?) about such sustained grassroots and civic engagement against government fuсkеrу. For them, the last time that they showed anything resembling a civic backbone was in 1991 in the staredown of the coup against Gorbachev, and that was still nothing like what ordinary Ukrainians went through in 2013-14 or even 2004-5.
