      I fear this was just a test to see how Ukraine’s defenses response to an ICBM launch before they launch ones with nuclear warheads.

      Ukraine has a lot of missiles to send before they catch up to what Russia has sent already to decimate Ukraine and its civilian infrastructure.
      Hitting Russia is not escalation is retaliation!

      I believe it is time to send NATO/EU forces to Ukraine—initially, just air defense units as a warning to Russia. These air defense units would protect Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure from Russia’s war crimes. Since these troops would not engage directly with Russian forces, Russia should not have any grounds to oppose this level of NATO/EU involvement.

      The next step could involve deploying NATO/EU peacekeepers to the Ukraine-Russia border areas that have not been breached by either Russia or Ukraine.

      If Russia were to attack NATO/EU forces in Ukraine, it would give NATO the full right to respond.

      I would say sending missiles deep into Russian territory when the War on the Ground is already lost, just out of spite to do as much harm as possible before finally giving up, is an escalation .

      Its like poking the Bear and then crying foul when it gets upset .

      It’s escalation, because it makes ICBM launching sites and their storage bases “fair game” for Ukraine.

      How about not giving missiles to Ukraine?  Do people understand that when you give permission for Ukraine to shoot off long range missiles provided by Europe that these things are operated by non Ukrainians?

      This is stupid. Why would Russia use an ICBM to hit a target 435 miles away?

      An ICBM is rocket, like the Saturn V that sent man to the moon. An ICBM leaves the atmosphehitand arcs back downwards to hit something on the other side of the World.

      And who cares what the delivery device is anyway? The warhead is what matters and it wasn’t nuclear.
