Joe and Mika are getting a brutal lesson on why the traditional cable news format is dead.

There is no more middle of the road in the dopamine media landscape. Pick a side and go super hard. You can be a pizza joint or a sushi bar but you can’t be both.

  2. Training-Republic301 on

I never watched their show. They always seemed fake to me.

  3. LoserBroadside on

There were never really any anti-Trump conservatives. It was all a grift. For all the high profile conservatives who cowed to vote for Harris, I suspect almost none of them actually did. It was just posturing.

  4. futuretardis on

They are trying to keep their jobs in a format that is slowly becoming irrelevant.

  5. needsmoarbokeh on

They’ve been warning for years in their show against the dangers of a trump regime but then they run to chill with the fascist?

    Fully deserved outrage

  6. GrowFreeFood on

The media is owned by billionaires. I hate when people say “left wing media”. No, its all far far far far far right.

  7. Apparently they kept saying Trump was dangerous and the end of democracy etc. Then they decided to cozy up to the same guy they gave apocalyptic warnings about. They deserve to be dragged for this one way or another

  8. thisKeyboardWarrior on

Almost as if they’ve been knowingly lying to their audience and never really meant any of it.

  9. RingAny1978 on

Heavens! Talk to the incoming administration? How dare they!

This is what should happen, talk to everyone, understand them, and criticize when criticism is due.

  10. throaway20180730 on

How can this classify as “creation and use of technology and its surrounding issues”?

  11. Extreme-General1323 on

The tolerant left isn’t very tolerant if you’re not on the same page with them100% of the time. LOL. No wonder people are leaving the Democratic Party in droves.

  12. lmindanger on

Yeah, no shit. There’s no such thing as an anti-Trump republican. They will all fall into line. Whether threatened or offered an exorbitant amount of money, they can all be bought. People who think there are “good” republicans who are going to stand in the way of Trump are fooling themselves.

  13. BigBlackHungGuy on

I may be in the minority here, but they cant be that duplicitous. Sometimes to gain access to an enemy , you must appear as an ally.

  14. Logictrauma on

Almost as if no one in media has any spine or integrity. It’s as if people can be bought for money.

  15. somewherearound2023 on

These two dipshits got spurned by Trump at the start of his first term, and pivoted to this weak “voice on the inside gentle resistance” schtick as a result.

All this means is they’re trying to get back on the inside again. Whatever, same people, same schtick.

  16. there_was_no_god on

ya know how to hurt them the most???

STOP WATCHING THEM! STOP FOLLOWING THEM!

  17. beehive3108 on

“MSNBC viewers got played for 8 years”. There changed headline for you.

  18. It’s not about being anti-Trump or pro-Trump. Joe and Mika were *afraid*.

Journalism is about speaking truth to power, not meeting with power in a private room, congratulating it, and discussing how to work with it. Journalists (including vapid show hosts who aren’t really journalists but who work in the industry) who are cozy with politicians and business leaders should be considered compromised and should be ignored by the public.

More importantly, being *afraid* of the powerful leads to a chilling effect in journalism where punches are pulled and news stories are either softened or shelved in favor of maintaining close access to the subject. That’s what being *compromised* means.

It’s cowardice that drove them to his resort to ask for a reset of their relations. Presumably, they don’t feel any differently about him than they did three weeks ago, so there was no need to meet with him and kiss his ass; they’d done their job, called him out when they felt it was appropriate, and that should have been that. Instead, they kissed his ring because they’re worried about ratings and access to the administration.

They have no place in the industry in my opinion, and when I call for their removal, it has nothing to do with their political views or the positions they take or who they like/dislike. I don’t care about that. I care about their failure to act tough with elected leaders because that is their *primary* job, and they’ve told us they don’t care about doing it if it means Trump doesn’t like them.

  19. Cowards. They spoke the truth and bent the knee to a criminal lying cheating traitor. They deserve every bit of criticism and I hope they lose a ton of views.

  20. Joe Scarborough was a republican congressman from Florida. Why does it surprise you that republicans cozy up to republicans, especially those in the media that will be targeted for their outspoken Trump opposition?

  21. Energon2313 on

Mika and Joe helped usher in the first round of the Orange turd. Anyone paying attention to these cretins thereafter deserves what they get.

  22. redvelvetcake42 on

That crowd is basically gonna end him and dude will be on CNN doing the same thing for a crowd more interested in his palatable centrism. He’s always been a GOP coward, just was profitable to yell for a few years before.

  23. Joe_Early_MD on

Is his old lady going to withhold sex (already is) and shave her head?

  24. snotboogie on

Dead to me. I took them off my feed after the Biden dropout flip floppery.

  25. I don’t know how any reasonable person could view this as anything other than capitulation. They went from calling the orange man a fascist and wannabe dictator, to bending the knee almost immediately. If they can turn on a dime on something THEY pushed as being a potential end to democracy, then they cannot (and should not) be trusted to give an honest opinion or assessment moving forward.

The incessant “sane-washing” of Trump from networks is fucking embarrassing and cringe and seems to know no limits.

  26. roofbandit on

There is literally no such thing as an anti-Trump conservative. These people are improv actors playing whatever character that can shape the message of corporate oligarchy into something appealing to lazy audiences

  27. GoudaCheeseAnyone on

The land of the “A Team” is no more, where are the tough TV heroes? Is everyone just in it for the money?

  28. poo_poo_platter83 on

Heres the thing. You cant say the things you said about him (End of democracy, facist etc) and demonize him to that level and expect people to just cool off after a week and accept him as a leader.

It comes off so fucked when you label him a true threat to society. And then youre like, hey leader how you doing. People REALLY dont like that switch.

For a lot of people they didnt just lose a competition. They perceived their rights lost and democracy over and a litteral dictator taking over their country.

Why do they see that. BECAUSE THATS WHAT YOU ALL HAVE BEEN BLITZING. And you expect your viewers to just be chill after that?

  29. numbskullerykiller on

These manicured skin tags deserve to have their careers burned off by a giant blast of liquid nitrogen. SCREW THEM.

The day people realize money is the only god in this country, and morality is secondary, they’ll be happier

  31. Relevant_Ad_8406 on

They are keeping their options open now they can go work for Fox so they keep their options open for a cabinet position . Joe is a politician , previous Republican party . Just playing the fence.

  32. toomuchmucil on

I’d love to be a fly on the wall for the Trump private meetings. Graham on the golf course, Musk in the Oval Office, Morning Joe at Mar a Lago.

But perhaps the most consequential one was Trump and publisher of the Times, AG “5th generation nepo baby” Sulzberger. The times wasn’t great before that meeting but after it was markedly worse.

What in the name of hail hydra is said in these meetings?

  33. whelmed-and-gruntled on

Joe Scarborough and his simple country lawyer shtick are tired and outdated. Sadly, Mika’s only value now seems to be referencing the greatness of her late father’s career. Before the election, Kamala Harris was hosting dinners for these assholes at the VP’s residence and they were allegedly advising Biden on policy. Feckless cowards.

  34. What does this have to do with technology other than a website disabling comments lmao
