  1. Probably to save his skin and not to be pushed back to the trenches.

  2. Their society is based on lies, and their models are liars, so it doesn’t surprise me that they use more lies at any level of whatever else they do.

  3. So I wonder if they are lying about losses too? That they are higher than what they are reporting.

Smoke and mirrors. Putin knows how many he’s lost, he doesn’t care. But he is doing this to blame others so the people don’t blame him for the failures. At the end of the day Putin’s responsible but Ruzzian propaganda already had it’s claws in it’s people to the point if Putin says jump, they will jump… they won’t even ask how high.

  5. Kinda funny since we KNOW they have been making actual progress but apparently thats not enough for the great leader

  6. Can you blame them? You can’t stay on the ground floor forever

Tell the boss what he wants to hear rather than the truth and end up falling out of a window, tell the lies and end up with a bullet in the head. Win win for Ukraine.

Is this what Putin means with bringing back the Union? Let’s lie for some rewards

  9. In other news, Lt. Ivan Ivanovich Ivanovsky is promoted to Army General and given command of Russian forces in Ukraine.

I expect many defenestrations at some point in the news, over there.

Reminds me of a chapter in Viktor Suvorov’s book *The Liberators* of his experience during the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia. Some soldiers were fooling around and spilt gasoline over an army bike with a sidecar, and it was burnt. Instead of reporting it as an offence, they commended them for having fought off an attack by partisans. The report went up the line and got embellished as other officers added similar losses. The final “warmachine” reported lost in action resembled some supermachine with missiles, RPGs, several machineguns, explosives, and tons of ammo instead of a motorbike.

In Russia, you’re fucked three ways. You either die in a pointless battle that gains nothing for anyone, you report honestly that you lost and get killed, or you falsely report and get killed. I mean arrested.
