    Interesting to see some early jungle boots in pic 3. Lad in the heli looks to be wearing early issue Okinawa double buckle boots. Someone correct me please if I am wrong.

    “that boy is my nightmare”. joe galloway was truly one of the greatest of all time when it comes to war reporting. the absolute guts you need to have as a non combatant to be amongst the soldiers to record history

  3. Lt. Col. Hal Moore commanded the forces in Ia Drang and wrote a book on the battle. If you’re looking for a really good in-depth read about one of the most violent battles of Vietnam, check out “**We Were Soldiers Once-and Young**”. The movie of the same title is pretty intense too.

    At what point did it become common to see soldiers wearing some sort of body armor/ plate carrier?
