    >France summoned Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Paris Tuesday over “unacceptable remarks” by the country’s President Ilham Aliyev last week at the COP29 talks he is hosting in Baku.

    >The foreign ministry said the move “follows the unacceptable remarks made about France and Europeans” which led France’s Environment Minister Agnes Pannier-Runacher to cancel her trip to the UN climate summit.

    >Aliyev lambasted Paris for colonial “crimes” in its overseas territories, and accused Europe of “corruption” and lecturing other countries about human rights while turning a blind eye to the “killings of innocent people” in France’s Pacific territory of New Caledonia in May.

    >France had previously accused Baku of interfering in its domestic affairs by stoking tensions in the archipelago, where 13 died in unrest over voting reforms that indigenous Kanak people fear could leave them in a permanent minority.

    >Relations between Paris and Baku have long been tense over France’s support for Azerbaijan’s arch-rival Armenia.

    >An Azerbaijani lightning offensive last year retook the breakaway Armenian-populated region of Nagorno-Karabakh — leading to an exodus of more than 100,000 Armenians.

    >Aliyev has ruled his gas-rich country with an iron fist for more than two decades since the death of his father, Azerbaijan’s Soviet-era Communist leader and former KGB general Heydar Aliyev.

    Also,

    >”Azerbaijan’s hostile actions must stop,” it added.

Good on France for defending its interests and territorial unity. Wish the British government did the same.

That’s what the EU needs at the moment(!), being part of Caucasia internal problems. So the EU can buy gas more expensive too. While China is ignoring all internal conflicts and building new silk road & business relationships in the zone, the EU must absolutely start a fight with Azerbaijan and Turkey.

    What’s next ?

    Supporting Libya junta ?
    Crashing Algeria ?
Another military coup in African countries ? So they can send more refugees…

And of course let the EU be part of Turk Kurd problems too. Lol time changed – it’s not the 20th century. Wake up. These re not the EU’s problems.

The Azerbaijani people do not trust their government on any economic issues. But when it comes to the Armenian issue, they will completely believe everything the government says. From my experience on the Internet, it is entirely possible for an Azerbaijani to curse Aliyev as a lying dictator because of corruption and public security issues one minute, and then cheer for Aliyev as the greatest Turk the next minute because Aliyev increased military spending and attempted to blackmail the Armenian government. He himself does not think there is any contradiction between these two states, and firmly believes that although Aliyev has not told the truth on economic issues, his remarks about Armenia and France must be true because this involves national dignity. Aliyev‘s bottom line as a proud Turk

  5. Good. Their oil exports to the EU are almost worthless anyway, very little amount, and it’s mostly rebadged Russian gas.

No fan of Azerbaijan and the remarks were hypocritical, but … were they wrong? Indigenous people should be respected and colonial states should be dismantled. Settlers go home if you don’t like it – it’s not your land. Every nation has a right to self determination.

Boratland in a nutshell. There are no limits to their hostile behavior even at the top level of society.

A US senator was almost beaten by some azerbayjani thugs at the conference, and he immediately were confronted by a gang of uncivilized “journalists”.

It’s so obvious this is an artificial nation with no manners nor identity thats why they act so unhinged.
