  1. Well, when Mar-A-Lago will go underwater, then I’ll hear what he has to say.

It’s crazy this man won the popular vote too.

Electoral I get, the electoral college is shitty like that. But goddamn the popular vote too?

  3. I would like to see president Trump travel to :

Perth Australia and tell this to the people who have experienced the hottest summer on record, every year for the last decade.

    The people of Valencia Spain.

The people of Bangladesh and the Pacific Islands who are losing their homes.

The people in Lismore who experienced 2 “once in a hundred years” floods and a “once in 500 year floods in a 2 month period.

The people of the south West of America who are experiencing the worst drought in over a thousand years (but voted for him anyway)

What he means is that it’s not a crisis *to him* as he’ll be dead by the time the effects matter…

Short term profits *trump* long term stability.

Young people (especially men and non college white women) adore them some Trump. I hope they enjoy food scarcity, “tropical” diseases, and mass migration from Africa and South Asia. Also water shortages and devastating storms. They deserve it. May they burn in hell for electing a dictator.

  6. Less than a month ago: World on pace for significantly more warming without immediate climate action, report warns

    https://apnews.com/article/climate-change-chaos-warming-15-pollution-carbon-832773cebb14b4ea8c8930580537e567

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) recently released a report warning that, without immediate and substantial action, global temperatures are projected to rise by 3.1°C above pre-industrial levels by the end of the century. This significantly exceeds the Paris Agreement’s target of limiting warming to 1.5°C, posing severe risks to ecosystems, human health, and economies. (Reuters)

The report highlights that current national climate plans are insufficient to meet the Paris Agreement goals. To align with the 1.5°C target, global greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced by 42% by 2030 and 57% by 2035, relative to 2019 levels. However, global emissions reached a record high of 57.1 gigatonnes of CO₂ equivalent in 2023, indicating a need for more aggressive mitigation strategies. (Reuters)

As a Brit, this is depressing to see the US cede leadership on the green energy revolution but it will open way for global competitors to leapfrog ahead.

Some company is paying him to “believe” that or he’s just one of the many ignorant people who watched Fox News and thinks it possible to have an “opinion” at odds with facts and data.

  9. best case scenario, America makes itself irrelevant. worst case scenario, America takes the rest of us down with it.

so they’ll gut regulations which could mean dumping waste into water sources?

  11. Spartanfred104 on

Which is funny because that guy specifically has been part of the electrification and lowering emissions of oil extraction.

    Grifters gonna grift.

  12. Kinda funny that this guy is a climate denier but is probably nuclear. No one tell him that nuclear is the cleanest energy source we have and maybe he’ll build them thinking it’ll make us mad

  13. steveplaysguitar on

We’re already dealing with shitty climate change. Enjoy your problems I guess.

Thats how democracy works! Of the people, by the people, for the people!

  15. If there is no climate crisis why are insurance companies using that as an excuse to no help people in hurricane areas or to leave the insirance game altogether in those areas?

I hope they get prosecuted for denying help over lies.

    >Nuclear energy

    Ok that’s actually good

    >Fossil Fuel drilling

    Oh nevermind

  17. Well, I dislike trump, but hopefully the goal is lean on fossil as we develop nuclear plants. They take 6-8 years to develop. Still bad, but honestly nuclear is better than any other renewable power

  18. ChronoFish on

I’m OK with the nuclear energy. It’s was a mistake to step away from it. It’s one of the greenest and most power dense forms of energy we have.

Our investment should be on miniaturization and safety.

  19. AchingforBacon on

Nuclear has had a bad rep for a long time and for good reason. However, its safety record is now equivalent to that of solar panel industry. It is much safer than the Chernobyl days.

Honestly, I used to care about the environment and a lot of other stuff. Voting Trump in killed all that for me. I never planned to have kids, but since I am a caring person I cared about the planet for my niece/nephews and everyone else’s children. Now, fuck it. Burn it the fuck down just so I can have that sweet “I told you so”. Maga will never learn otherwise and I’m exhausted trying to teach them.

I had money on him nominating Diddy since he knows a thing or two about that oil

Even street the Greenland ice sheet slides into the ocean, submerging Florida and large parts of the East Coast, these fuckasses will still deny the existence of climate change. They can only live cognitively dissonant lives.
