  1. Hah, the EU finally growing a spine and uno-reversing what PRC has been doing for decades.

Gonna add some context to this. How China got this idea actually came from Singapore.

The main reason this started was because before China’s rise, they sent their scholars to Singapore’s university (National University of Singapore) to learn how the country adopted alot of pro-business/quid-pro-quo strategies on building internal capabilities. This happened for many years and overtime the scholars were sent back to China to become policymakers themselves.

That is why you actually see alot of the chinese policies emulate what Singapore had done during their initial rise.

Some things that carried over are the usual limited rights of unions, clampdown on protests, a more authoritarian take on things. Of course overtime they took their own spin on it, for better or for worse.

I am not too sure if they still send their scholars to the country, but this is just some history nugget for you to know.

  3. First lines of an article and it’s already hilarious:

“Brussels is planning to force Chinese companies to transfer intellectual property to European businesses in return for EU subsidies as part of a tougher trade regime for clean technologies following the election of Donald Trump.”

You can’t force a deal when you are in an inferior position and is a declining power. Knowing Chinese politeness, this would simply ignored.

This is sad because it shows how far Europe has fallen behind technologically.

Sad very sad. This is the end of the game for the EU. Woke up too late. Instead of spending time and money for other countries internal problems, the EU should have focused on its own problems, schedules…

Let’s continue to talk about why Syria Iraq Israel etc…don’t have enough democracy.

What kind of unhinged demands are this?

“Hand over you patents! Put them in the bag!”

Dude hasn’t even stepped into office yet and Brussels is already applying lipstick.

    Kinda pathetic really.

Eh, every time I mention here that EU needs to stop making silly rules for tech companies and stop regulating them to death, I got downvoted. Now EU is begging China for technology transfer. Fun.

Sanctions, tariffs and over regulation. The collective west has painted itself into a corner with it’s colonial mindset and hubris

    ***TLDR***

The European Union (EU) is implementing new trade rules requiring Chinese companies to transfer technology and establish European factories in exchange for subsidies. This initiative will begin with a €1 billion battery grant scheme set to launch in December. Modelled after practices seen in China, these measures aim to protect European industries from being undercut by cheaper imports while ensuring compliance with strict environmental standards.

Additionally, the EU has already imposed up to 35% tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles and is tightening regulations on imports of green technology. Although these actions are designed to strengthen domestic production and support decarbonisation efforts, experts caution that they could increase consumer costs and create uncertainty within the automotive sector.
