So much for Making America Healthy Again. Hard to do that when Americans can’t get medical care.

  2. “Some Republicans have misgivings about how such changes will go over with the public, the Post reports, noting that these programs support at least 70 million low-income and disabled Americans.”

Well there are only a few options we have.

    1. Raise taxes (unpopular)
    2. Cut spending (unpopular)
    3. Combo (unpopular)
    4. Hope we have massive economic growth (unlikely)

  3. Turning the screws and just, pulling the rug out from under the US economy.

I hope they like those eggs powered.

Hope those boomers are happy now with what they voted for. Tried telling my boomer family and friends this would happen. But as usual, they wouldn’t listen.

  5. My dumb friend bitches about his taxes. I’m like, you know you’re on Trump’s tax plan now. And he’s all, no, I definitely paid less when he was in office.

Me – Are you making more money?

    Him – Yes.

Me – Uh…. Do you understand how taxes work????

in the long run, it will raise medical costs for everyone in the middle and upper middle income brackets at sick people will no longer use medicaid doctors and will instead go to hospitals and those costs will be passed onto us. Get rid of ACA and kids will get kicked off of parent’s health insurance before they are 26 and will again go to hospitals for care rather than doctors. We will all pay.

  7. Rob from the poor to give to the rich. Same thing in his first term. Why did people vote for this again?

How many red state fucks are going to get hosed by this?

Hey – with fewer patients maybe my own health care will become more convenient… No more waiting three months for physicals and shit, right? MAGA mf’rs!

I can’t help but wonder if this will disproportionately affect his base. There are plenty of blue voters on assistance but many of them live in states with governors who want to take care of people. The Medicaid wipeout is going to hit everyone and red voters don’t have a safety net that I am aware of.

The GOP just loves to portray people as welfare queens which is largely untrue. Remember when they said people were living off the $1,200 COVID relief three months after it was dispersed? Delusional bunch of baboons, they are.

They’ll do this. It’ll hurt their own voters. They’ll tell their voters it’s Democrats fault. FOX News will parrot it. Russian trolls will parrot it. Rogan will tell his idiots as much. Elon will blast it over Twitter.

We really need Ukraine to kick Russia’s ass (which will be harder with Trump in office) and for Bluesky to overtake Twitter (this is in progress). Even then, their weaponization of disinformation is going to be a continued problem, even as they wreck the country and prove themselves unfit.

All those children with autism and downs syndrome and cerebral palsy and untold other disabilities are all about to lose waivers, then, too.

Thanks to the party of christian love and pro life no matter what.

People have no idea how expensive it is to care for a disabled child, above and beyond how expensive it is to raise a child in the first place.

Bet some of those Trump flags come down in the trailer park!
Yi kai yay motherfuckers! Here comes your consequences!

You almost wish that we could start a new party and just call it the common sense, no BS party. Let’s start doing things like 1) vote on the weekend so everyone can vote 2) elect someone who is just a normal person and in their 40s 3) stop ‘going high when they go low’ and not letting either side who serves up BS to get called hard on it. 4) admit that the majority of people are racist still and the VAST majority of them are because they have no perspective of the world outside their bubble.

In 2020 I was glad my mother was already dead because she wouldn’t have to contract Covid in her nursing home. Now I have to be glad, again, that my mother is already dead so she won’t be kicked out of her nursing home.

Remember when he said, “If we stop testing, we’d stop finding new cases.” The old close your eyes in denial argument.

My mother is fucked and she voted for Trump.

I hope she enjoys the cheapest retirement home in Cincinnati, because that is where she is going.

Thoughts and prayers I guess… shoulda voted for Harris if you liked living

  18. Ironic that the states that benefit the most from Federal funding are red states, yet, people cry communism.

    Enjoy your lesser benefits.

  19. Remember when they were all indignant in 2022 about how “Why the hell would we ever go after medicaid or social security? That’s stupid shut up you dumb lefties”

  20. FuriousGeorge8629 on

Over the next year, while this is happening, expect scapegoats, finger pointing and strawman arguments. Don’t let them get away with it. Talk to people you don’t agree with about what’s happening.

Look up how many HCBS Waivers (Medicaid funded) your state has.

    Kansas (KanCare):
    *Autism Waiver
    *Brain Injury
    *Frail and Elderly Waiver
    *Intellectual/Developmental Disability
    *Physical Disability
    *Severe Emotional Disturbance
    *Technology Assistance

The TA waiver for example, here are the qualifications:

Have a monthly income below $2,382 (as of 2021)
Have countable assets below $2,000 (as of 2021)
Require a level of care equivalent to that provided in a hospital or nursing facility
Be dependent on a medical device such as a ventilator, tracheostomy, feeding tube, or intravenous infusion
Require at least one skilled nursing service per day
Have a physician’s order for the medical device and skilled nursing service
Have an individualized plan of care that specifies the type and frequency of services needed
These are the people that will suffer the most. The most vulnerable people that need the most assistance who literally cannot make over $2,382 a month and have less than $2,000 in assets. Just picture the amount of assets you have. How much is your cellphone worth, your car, laptop, tv, etc. Have you been disqualified yet?

I’m going to pray to any God or Goddess, multiple Gods or entities that they leave these programs/waivers intact.

What’s crazy is rural America is going to light itself on fire in this chaos and the cities are going to thrive with all the money consolidated.

  23. Voters: “I’m voting for Trump because he’ll stop giving welfare handouts!”

    Trump: *Announces Medicaid cuts*

Voters: “I’m sure he means those lazy immigrants. I earned my benefits.”

    Trump: *Cuts Medicaid for everyone.”

Voters: “I don’t understand why Democrats let this happen!”

  24. PlayCertain on

Every campaign promise he keeps hurts someone else. A lot of people on Medicaid voted for him and will now be hurt. It’s just beginning.

  25. Particular_Ad_1435 on

Fuck anyone who voted for this motherfucker. This, THIS, is why I voted Harris. I am disabled and need Medicaid Waiver to cover home health care. I fucking protested this shit in 2018 and cheered when McCain did a thumbs down. And it was all for fucking nothing because people are so fucking stupid in this country!

So now what am I supposed to do? Quit my job and move into a nursing home I guess. Unless they take that away too and i just… die? Fuck me right?

My sister has stage 4 cancer and is on Medicaid. Her meds are $17k/month. I’m really worried

Be fun when grandma can’t access long term care insurance and has to move back in with her children who voted to own the libs and get cheaper gas and eggs.
