      *How* is that not hate crime? Do you need to have a funny mustache and speak in a German accent while doing it for it to be a hate crime or what?

      Dumb over simplistic synthesis capturing intense disfavour over conduct of Israeli state for political attention causing offence. Still having a South African flag time stamped with added US Jim Crow references isn’t quite as effective or snappy.

      The title is intentionally misleading, police have labeled it a ‘hate incident’, but it is not a ‘hate crime’ because sending someome an image isn’t in of itself a crime.

      To be classified as a hate crime it needs to be a regular crime, that was motivated by hatred for a protected characteristic.

      So, are the Saudis or something putting pressure on these governments to just let this continue? I can’t for the life of me fathom how this is tolerated? There was another post about how the UK police just told Jews and lgbt folks to just avoid Arab areas. Like, what?!?! If Arabs were to go into a gay neighborhood and be attacked, would it just be “oh well you shouldn’t have gone there?”
