While I don’t believe Trump winning will be quite as disastrous as the author made out that was a good article and I think it hits the nail on the head. Backing away from the identity politics and concentrating on wealth inequality, cost of living and the environment (in that order) is the only way the left gets stronger. I would change my vote if they did.

    This guy nailed it.

Social media, Twitter (never going to be X), youtube, facebooks, all crawling with Conservatives bashing any supporter of anyone not PP. No left leaning response.

The media has not reported on anything positive the government has done since the convoy. Every crisis is front page news, every new program barely gets a mention.

The left both in the USA and Canada have abandoned men, and men in turn have abandoned the left. One cannot abandon 50 percent of the voting public and expect to win elections.

And faced with crisis after crisis, from housing, to immigration, our crumbling military, to a falling standard of living, more and more people living paycheck to paycheck, the response from the LPC in this case has been to tinker. No bold plans, no fundamental changes to anything, just tinkering around the edges. Now I’m not saying Canada is broken, but Canada and Canadians are hurting and the gov isn’t meeting the moment. Just condescending stuff like, “we know the the increased COL is hurting Canadians, that’s why we have a school food program and dental care”. Like if those Canadians that even have kids are suddenly financially secure because they don’t need to pack their kids lunch and get braces. No, people still cannot afford their mortgages and rents, and again, a lot of younger Canadians cannot even dream of getting married and having kids, so what does this do for them exactly?

I’m never voting for PP, but I wont vote for the LPC for a very long time, because they also don’t get it. The time for tinkering was maybe a decade ago, when they first got elected. Things have gotten much harder since then and they are not acting like it.
